Hi,

I have a 2000 1.4 Polo SE that I have owned for 10 months with no problems until just before Christmas.

Basically it will turn over but will not start. Its been to my regular mechanic and to a local VAG specialist all to no avail.

Between them they have checked;

Removed fuel pipe to check for fuel pressure - fuel pressure present.
Removed spark plug lead to check for spark but no spark present. Replaced crank sensor but still no spark,
replaced the cam sensor but still no spark, replaced the coil pack and still not spark.

No error codes are showing.

Oddly, the car will run if I bump start it.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Try below 2.

1. Check Earth Cable from Battery to Engine(Clean with sandpaper).
2. Open Distributor cap and clean with WD40 and dry cloth.

if above 2 does not work

then clean throttle body with Carb cleaner, you may have to readapt ECU by VAGCOM or any other tool.

Could be Ignition coil, since no spark is there.
