I had one of the early 2013 A3 1.4 cylinder-on-demand models, which was specified as 140bhp. I notice the new models are 150bhp.
What changed? Is it just a tuning change or are they mechanically different?

I don't know for certain, but the change was mostly for EURO 6 emissions. The torque figure is identical so it suggests they just tweaked the ECU for better emissions and keeping the same torque a little higher up the rev range (=increase in power).

Thanks, so what are the chances of my dealer doing the ECU change?
I suppose I will have to ask!

Why upgrade your car when they can sell you a brand new model for 200x the price? ;) (More seriously, running a MYn car on an MYn+1 or whatever ECU mapping would probably complicate future software updates).
Do you keep your foot flat down until the red-line? If not, it probably wouldn't make any difference.
