CAEB vs CDNC - What's is the difference? Please help.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a B8 Audi A4 CDNC and CAEB?


Two schools of thought so far...


- Avant (CDNC) / Saloon (CAEB) (sedan)
or
- different types of catalytic converter




Any Ideas?

I believe your right, one is a Saloon, one is an Avant

I think it may be to do with different emissions. Mine is a 2.0TFSI quattro Saloon - and has a CDNC engine.

Why do you ask? Do you have one (bust) and looking at another to replace?

I have an issue with the power steering that matches a technical service bulletin re the CAEB but mine is the CDNC.

As far as I'm concerned they are the same in this respect but the mechanic I spoke to said CAEB issues don't apply to CDNC. I think he's wrong in this respect.
