Ever since I've had the car approximately 0ver 2 years, the car will tick over on about 1050 rpm, this is regardless of whether I'm driving in the summer or winter & I don't use alot of electrical functions in the car neither while I'm driving. Usually radio 4, heaters blower turned up less than half way, air con on occasionally. So is this normal car behaviour anybody?

Mine ticks over at about 750rpm. I've got the 1.4 TFSI COD engine. 1050rpm sounds too high.

Which engine is it, might help telling us!

Remember don't always trust the rev counter, just like the speedo, its "out" somewhat.

The car is 1600 tdi, when I asked Audi dealership after a few months after I bought it I got told its nothing to worry about, its the recuperation kicking in & therefore it's charging up the car.

You'll find the idle speed rises when the DPF is doing a regen. Normal and nothing to worry about.
