Hi guys new here.

I have an audi a3 2.0tdi 2004.

Was on the motorway gave it some throttle , hit 80mph in kicked in limp mode.

Now I have done some research , I know it's usually down to the turbo, the turbo does not whine or sound like Im being chased by the police.

In town driving I can red line it no problems and never goes in to limp mode, it just seems that at high speed it likes to limp.

I bought some FORTE turbo cleaner which helped someone in a different forum. Im expecting delivery of this in a few days

What do you all advise?

What prices would i be looking at for , cleaning, refurb, new turbo etc etc?

And where is the best place to go ? I'm based in bedfordshire

Don't do anything until you've had it scanned for faults. On a modern car there is no need to throw random parts at it.

Is there any particular codes that if i see i should begin to brick it?

Limp mode can be caused by anything so any codes could be present.

The turbo needs removing and rebuilding, there is no snake oil way around this.

16618 (P0234) - Boost Pressure Regulation: Limit Exceeded (Overboost Condition)

So should I was going to change the N75 and boost sensor ill skip that then, guess it will save some money, is midland turbo any good?

The only way to be sure is to make some deeper tests such as boost control output tests and Basic Settings 011 test then a measuring blocks 011 boost graph but you can't do that. Midland Turbo are absolutely brilliant, top people. If I was diagnosing it I would make these tests first and then when I was sure, it would be off to Midland, I would not send mine anywhere else even if they weren't just down the road from my house.

Used the Forte Cleaner, drove like 5 miles, saw a black puff, still goes in to limp mode at around 80% of accel ped pushed too the floor, innotec is coming in a few days will try that, if still no joy then simply will remove the turbo send it to midland turbo and wait for it to come back

Had same problem ....used innotec seemed to help a bit.....problem returned.....used mr muscle oven cleaner....helped for a while longer but eventually problem returned.....bit the bullet and removed turbo...used instructions off this or another forum...took turbo apart for a manual clean up as the turbo cleaners dont seem to get them properly clean enough to stop the vane ring jamming up again.....but on internal inspection the turbo had some slight damage to the fan so I ordered a recon turbo from midland turbo...all good since fitted....but you must fit new oil line and prime new turbo with oil before starting car ...
