Wipers wont switch off

Hi folks


I have a 1998 1.9 tdi and yesterday whilst it was raining heavy ( but not that heavy) my wipers when switched off , seemed to stay on , no matter what I tried I couldnt get them off , I ended up setting my intermmittent to longest delay to get round it sort off.

My question is will it be the stalk or is there a relay or something and how easy are these to change? Ive had a search but cant see anything or posts relating to it

I think it'll be the stalk pal, as it's this that terminates the power to the circuit (relay).

Not sure if the steering wheel (and airbag) needs to come off to change it. It did on my mates fiat brava. somebody on here should know.

Im hoping the wheel doesnt need to come off , air bag and all that I bought a second hand 1 of ebay so will find out soon

is this easy to do air bags scare me !
Maybe i could just stop the intermitnet working and use that as the off position.
