VW Polo - emissions light/goodwill gesture?

Hi, wondered if anyone had a similar problem. I have a VW Polo 1.2 and the emission light comes on when i put my foot down (intermittently). It comes on and the car feels like it's missing/pulling back.

My warranty ran out two weeks ago and i am booked to go on to diagnostic machine - anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is - also considering only two week out of warranty do you think they will consider a good will gesture?

I had my light come on a few weeks after my 5 year warranty ran out.The sensor had a fault in it and was replaced. Car was also runnign a bit ropey.

However the good will gesture was that instead of costing me nearly £200 inc labour. It was only £100 as I had always had the car serviced at that dealer.
