Hi Folk's
Anyone had any experience retro-fitting front fogs to the b5.5 passat?
I remember with my old micra it was quite a simple affair as all the wiring was in place all that needed doing was swapping the stalk and fitting the lights.
Got a 4motion (if it makes any difference) any chance I'll find the wiring in place waiting? Also these passats have a knob rather than a stalk, how easy are these to swap?

Wires are probably in place, you'll need a new switch and the grilles with the spots. You should be able to get everything from a VAG breaker for a score

Also need to remember they are not "rain lights", not "look cool lights" and not "ooooo it's dark lets put them on lights"

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalksuprising how many 'good' drivers (w@@@@rs) put on their rear fogs when it gets a little misty and then leave them on. Also there are so many cars out there that would fail the mot due to none working indicators that need to be used when they are turning or switching lanes.

woah, big response there!
Thanks Doctle,
and yeah, fog lights are for foggy conditions, like 2 days ago, visibility was down to 10m. some fog's would've either lit it all up into a nice grey blanket to cover my sight completely, OR it could've slipped Under the fog to illuminate the road ahead.
Yes every car I've owned has had fogs (eventually)
Yes my previous car had (crappy, factory fitted) daytime running lights.
No I do not think they "Look cool" or anything else, functionality over aesthetics ANY and Every day.
And yeah I only ever turn on the rear fog if I can't see if there's some fool rushing up behind me and visibility is down to 10m or thereabouts, if there's someone in the traffic behind me, rear doesn't need to be on, only there to stop fools rushing into the back of the car before they realise it's there.
I shall get on the hunt, funnily enough I was out and about the scrappies yesterday looking for a new set of 16"s so I already know of 4 to cross off the lists ;)

You should have been in Ireland the other day, low visibility people driving at high speed with sometimes only sides or even nothing. Very few with even rear fogs, I had to take half a white valium

Geeeeez!
Reminds me of driving in snow-outs (blanketing sheets of snow coming down) I'm there doing 20 wipers on full, fools belting past me at 60+
You just wonder how they survive, I mean I get the whole keeping momentum but there's momentum and suicide...
