Noise from clutch

For the last week the clutch has been making a noise, mostly once the engine is warm. Doesn't matter whether I am in gear or neutral, when the clutch is pressed down about a couple of inches I get a rough rattling noise which disappears if I press the clutch further or release fully. Any ideas?
