Fuel Leak

Hi everyone
I have a 1997 A4 Avant 1.8 SE Petrol.
Recently i have noticed a leaking of fuel from somewhere on the drivers side RHD, under the car level with the rear passenger door. I have not yet found the actual leak area as it only comes out Intermittently, usually a few second after startup and then ceases after another few seconds. I can drive for ages and nothing happens then it leaves a pool of petrol & then stops dripping.
Has anyone any Ideas as to what is occouring?

i got a 51 plate a4 tdi that does the same and still can't get to the bottom of it yet

Had a new Fuel filter and unions fitted about a month ago and , fingers crossed it has not leaked since.
