Hello.

I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction for this matter.....

I have a 2007 Golf Plus and today when I indicated right, the right indicator flashed once and then the left indicator started. When I indicated left, the left indicator worked normally. Looking at the Hayes Manual, the indicators seem to be just the lamps with the circuit running from the Onboard Supply Control Unit with the input from the Indicator Switch and Steering Column Control Unit. These all seem to be internal and hence unlikely to be affected by washing the engine bay.

Has anyone heard of this before?

Thanks,
Stuart

Hello Stuart.

Did that happen just the once or is it doing it all the time? If it only happened once, then I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts doing it regularly.
If it's doing it all the time, I think you'll need to have a diagnostic check done. You'd need to use the diag tool to read the indicator switch to see if it is an input problem, ie the switch is sending the wrong signal to the control unit. If that checks OK, then you'd use the diag tool to activate the indicators to see if there is a problem with the output side of the control unit.

Perhaps there is someone on the forum with a diag tool that could help you. Have a look here : Vagcom/VCDS User Locations (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?5319-Vagcom-VCDS-User-Locations)
If not, try and find a local VW specialist or if all else fails take it to your VW dealer.

Regards.

Jim.
