keeping egr valve clean .

I found out that my b7 140 bluemotion 2011 had a new egr valve and turbo carried out by vw before I purchased my car and this was due to egr vaccum failure at 54000 miles. I spoke to vw technician and he said after 2013 , new egr valves were fitted when replacing broken ones and the new ones had better vaccum .
Is there a way to keep the egr valve clean , like v power diesel or forte diesel cleaner once in a while?
