HOW TO - Passat B7 Sill trim removal

Sill trim removal on passat B7.

Trim is in two parts

I have removed back section no problem as screw in rear arch and clips to side of sill.

Long section running from front arch to just short of the rear arch is proving difficult.

I have removed plastic screws that run along the bottom face. Trim still connected via plastic clips into side of sill. Unable to get enough leverage and risk of damaging. Also trim catches on corner of open door preventing it from being pulled outwards.

Any suggestions please on what tool I require as dont want to damage the bodywork, trim or the clips.

I suggest buying a trim removal kit, ebay has many listed which should have a suitable tool to pry the clip. In addition have a look on youtube for some clips on trim removal, there are several from memory.
