A2 bonnet release knob won't lock

Hello

my wife drives an audi a2, the bonnet release knob won't lock. I have checked the knob itself and it looks fine.

has anyone had a similar issue and how they solved it.

Ensure the bonnet is pushed properly back into the catches, then try to lock it. The catches near the windscreen are known to wear.

Did the job and car passed NCT and is back on the road
