I'm beginning to think about replacing my 2010 A4 B8 2.7. I can't find any info online about the launch date of the B9 other than some vaguish references to 2015. Neither can I find anything on here (unless I'm looking in the wrong place). So, can anyone tell me what the latest is. I know that the 2.7 and the multitronic box have gone but is it known if there will be any new engines added to the range. Thanks..............

Just found this online - New Audi A4 2015: price, release date & specs | Carbuyer (http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/news/112859/new-audi-2015-price-release-date-specs) Afraid it doesn't provide very much more information, plus I think the comment about the car using the Golf's (MQB) underpinnings is just wrong as I understand that is for transverse engine models.

The car should debut at the Paris motor show in October.. If you have a look at the new Passat you can get a few ideas for what new tech you can expect in the new B9.

The car will be based on the second generation MLB platform, hopeful highlights for me will be the all digital dash and the new 2.0 BiTDI engine..

With Avant probably 6 months afterwards.

So is the A4 changing to transverse engine mounting? Might improve the interior space but would mean quattro isn't Torsen based any more, would be Haldex like the A3, TT and most VW.

The L in MLB means it will be longitudinal so we still get the Torsen Quattro system.

MQB is used for transverse engines and uses the Haldex system, this is the platform the new A3 and TT are based on..

To further clarify the new Passat (B8) is based on the MQB platform not MLB, however it's my expectation that the tech in the new Passsat will also appear in the new A4 (B9) including the all digital dash and the 2.0 Bi-TDI engine (which would be longitudinally mounted in the A4).

Disappointing news if this article turns out to be true..
