B7 head unit into B6 A4?

Hi all

I'm wondering if a head unit (single and double DIN) from a B7 A4 will fit into a B6 A4.

Actually, does it matter at all which Audi car it's comes from? e.g., A2,A3,A8 head unit into A4.

well, I've still got a tape head unit in my A4 and I want a cd player instead.

I'm keeping my eye out on ebay and I'm very flexible what I want in. My options so far has been:-


6 disk changer for in the glovebox
6/8/12 disk changer for in the boot
Audi OEM cd head unit
Audi cd head unit (B7) that also plays MP3 (Double DIN I think)I'm limiting myself with budget (I'm tight!), and also ease of installation (I can't be bothered doing a load of work; so I'm staying away from option 2!!!).

I'm also considering an aftermarket head unit, but I like the fact that I'm leaving the radio in my car when I get out.

What unit is currently fitted - is it a Concert or Chorus tape unit - do you have a part number?

it's a chrous. I don't have the part no.

So what's the difference between the chorus and the concert?
