timing belts

Hi, someone told me recently my car has a timing chain, not a belt. so why when i go to euorocarparts does it have belts for sale for my car? just concerned that because im approaching 80k that i need to repalce it? 2009 3.0 tdi V6 CCWA

Because their descriptions aren't very accurate. There is I think a high pressure pump that has a drive belt. All the timing chains are on the back of the engine and it's an engine out job to change them - or more likely on earlier V6's to change the timing chain tensioner that sometimes failed. The belt will be on the front of the engine top right I think. PM A8 tech who is an Audi master technician and a member of the forum often seen in the A6 C6 section. But your later engine should be ok as far as the timingchain and tensioner is concerned.

As above, it's a timing chain on the V6 diesels.

Besides the HPFP belt perhaps they're showing the auxilary belt? the aux belt is for the water pump/PAS/alternator/AC.

ECP Part No 325440825 is a HPFP belt, description on ECP is 24mm width with 83 teeth, which is right for some engine codes of V6 TDi, but not yours, as it is a 82 teeth P/N looking at VAG info, item 2 this Link:- AUDI A4/S4/AVANT/QUATTRO [A4Q] (EUROPE) 2009: ENGINE: 10985.
