Evening All,

I'm becoming increasingly tempted to remap my car but have a few concerns/questions that I hoped you knowledgeable folk might be able to assist with. My car is a 2007 2.7 TDI Le Mans Quattro Auto. I've heard on a few occasions that my car has the exact same gearbox as the 3.0 TDI variant, can anyone confirm this ? If that is the case then logically you would think that my gearbox should be able to cope with the additional power gains no problem. I've only ever mapped manual cars before, never an auto. Is it the difference just as noticeable as a manual?

Any other concerns I should consider before remapping?

Thanks

I'm very tempted by a Revo stage 1, totally safe and torque/bhp are within the limits of the car.

Make sure your car is running at it's optimum before considering a remap, as any problems will just be empahsised by the remap (IMO)/

So I had all the fluids changed (inc transmission) along with all of the filters plus a motorvac carbon clean and an auto-rx engine oil treatment. In addition to running on annual 12k oil changes I also change the oil filter every 6k miles.

Yep the same gearbox and mine coped well with the 10% increase and it made no difference to economy whatsoever.

The best way to describe the power would be that mine after the remap drives as it did in 'sport' prior, sport after is quite breathtaking! :biglaugh:

So I bit the bullet and had my car mapped today. Wow, seriously.... wow.

I got it done mid afternoon today and haven't been out of the car since. Just returned from a "spirited" drive. It pulls like an absolute train, sport mode is now ridiculous!

If anybody is considering getting a map but is having second thoughts, do it!!!

BIG smiles all around, it is pretty awesome...so spill the beans, namely:

Who?
Where?
How much?

Imagine what it feels like in a 3.0 with 20%+ more power to start...keep smiling! :biglaugh:

More BHP based in Crewe,
£200!

I never wanted the 3.0 anyway, honest.... honestly I never did. Ok I don't care :)

Better start saving pennies to get my 2.7 done !!
Work with a guy who had his land rover done & he has been very pleased
Done by a diesel injection specialist in Notts
Can't remember name of them off hand, will find out & post up

That's a very good price, am aware tuning on a 2.0 is around that, so pretty outstanding for a 2.7!

Hey am old, live in a low insurance area, so the 3.0 was the only way to go! :)

Yeah I was delighted with the price and service. I used them many years ago when I had a MK4 Golf GT TDI. Bit of a journey from me, about an hour, but definitely worth it. It's such a joy to drive now, so powerful and also makes a fairly decent noise

Even better with our 07 cars as most don't have a DPF to worry about, without that restriction will sound louder!:)

Luckily mine was unbadged from new and with my quad zausts and spoiler often get bimmer drivers trying to figure if it's an RS6, I'll not play as got my first ever 6 points after 3 days of ownership :(

Oh dear :(

Funny you should say that as I was only thinking to myself last night, christ I could end up losing my license with this thing now! I'm sure i'll settle back down to "Economy Mode" soon enough but for time being I am just enjoying the drive :)

Got my points BEFORE the remap and zausts

Appreciate that my Jaguar is decatted with straight through pipes and has a remap, so when doing 70 you know it by the noise. Audi on the other hand is quiet as a grave..even at 104 MPH

Two radar detectors fitted to Audi after being stopped...along with sedate driving :(
