Anyone know when the full details will be announced and when the configuration is likely to be working?

Sorry, I meant MY2015. Interested to know options and costs, I understand that there's a higher output Biturbo Le Mans edition, but there's nothing on the configurator yet, in fact the A7 cannot be configured presently.

No brochure available -

Please note: We are currently updating our A7 and S7 brochure and our RS 7 brochure to reflect the new model specification which will be available to order later in the summer. If you would like to request one of these brochures, you still can using the order brochure button, and we will hold your order and send you the new brochure as soon as it is available.

Audi Germany has all the info for the new A7 though the like for like specs are slightly different. I have been looking at the Sline Ultra model and you can get a really good discount on UK cars and they seem to be available for @ 36K ! Although you can order one they cannot give you a definite date for delivery.

I have looked on the german site but got a bit lost, though it seems the MY15 car is on there. My wife's new car has just landed so will be popping in to have a look, I will see if the salesman can shed any light on specs, options and colours and report back.

My15 A7 brochure is now available to download (as of last Friday) on the Audi website. No configurator yet, but all the prices and options are in the brochure. Also, a banner on the Audi site says "New A7: now open for ordering".

Cheers Wildbore, I had a look at the brochure last night, clearly some new colour and trim options and I quite like the look of the Tornado Grey, I am guessing it's new. I had hoped they might offer more trim options than black and silver on the black edition and maybe revised the HUD unit to rival BMW. Waiting to find out what sort of deals are available.

Yep, I was hoping they might have a pop at tidying that HUD but it was a lot to hope for - it's a significant engineering change to lose an HUD into the dash area. Still, I haven't explicitly seen a photo of an MY15 car with the HUD yet, so maybe...

I'm actually waiting to order the MY15 A6, so the A7 is just for information purposes only, for me. Definitely going to have those Matrix lights.

I have been in contact with a few Audi dealers as I am seriously thinking of ordering an A7 ultra Sline and it seems they are all in the region of offering about 12.5K off list. Does anyone have any experience of how much discount you can normally haggle off options? Is 50% off too much to be asking for. I know they can only say know but it would be nice to know what others may have achieved.

Thanks

Working on it with an Audi dealer. Did you place your order? I would be interested to know what the lead time is and what kind of deal you managed to negotiate?

Always worth using drivethedeal to give yourself an idea of current dealer discount levels

The figures for the new 3.0 non BiTDi in 272PS tune seem impressive: 5.7sec 0-62mph and improved economy (54.3mpg); this represents a >15% improvement in economy and faster acceleration.

I have an active configurator working that the dealer gave me, its the one they use internally. I am just about to place an order for a A7 3.0 Black Edition in White with those lovely blade edition 20" wheels they use for the RS7! Beautiful!

My only dilemma is to go Bi Turbo or not. Sauron has a great point those figures are hugely impressive - and the bi turbo version is only 0.5 sec quicker and £4k for the privilege, plus of course its thirstier... I am coming from a BMW 330d M Sport - which does 0-60 in 5.6 ...so comparable....So im thinking to go non bi turbo. I drove the Bi turbo - albeit the old version of it which is marginally slower and less economical and it was impressive, sounded like driving a V8 - my question is will the non bi turbo 3.0 be much of a difference?

I got 15% off the list on the road price (64k inclusive of 7k of options - eek!) and then a further £4000 dealer contribution rolled into the finance.

Anyone been offered any better or thoughts if if I can get better? Poor dealer has seen me like 10 times over a 3 month period now!

Are the prices you have been quoted off the new up and coming facelift version? I have been struggling to nail dealers down as they are telling me that they do not have access to the option configurator yet and the discounts being quoted are off the current model and not the facelift. Which dealer are you using?

Thanks Steven

The Pre-Facelift version...

Bi-Turbo: 0-62 mph 5.3 seconds - 313PS - 650NM Torque - 8 Speed Tiptronic - 44.8 mpg Combined

3.0 TDI: 0-62 mph 6.3 seconds - 245PS - 580NM Torque - 7 Speed S-tronic - 47.9 mpg Combined

Check what Gearbox is in each version of the new model

Cultivate

Yes they are the same gearbox ie the 7 speed s tronic in the non bi turbo and 8 speed in the BI - about 15 ps more in each engine and more efficient

K3ITH

I don't think you'd be disappointed with either the 272ps or 320ps

However, the 320ps with the 8 Speed Tiptronic for an extra £4K seems reasonable! - The 8 Speed box can handle all that 650NM Torque - Acceleration from 50mph is very impressive!

I called into Nottingham Audi this afternoon and the best the dealer would do was around 6% off list plus the finance. I think 15% off sounds pretty good with it being a face lift model new to the market. If you do place the order and manage to get that level of discount then please let me have the salesman's name and I will give him a call. Drive the deal has several of the existing 245 quattro black editions with tech pack at 26% off list at the moment!!

Just checked Drive the again and it appears they have updated their webpage for the new A7 as it now allows you to get a quote for the facelift car but only allows you to add the paint option. If the discount on the new car is to be believed it equates to around 28% off list! Sounds very good - almost too good.

Not driven the BiTDi myself so cannot comment on difference but find the 254ps acceptably fast. Looking at the new model the non-BiTDi perhaps seems to make more sense. I think in the real world you would struggle to notice a significant difference between the old BiTDi and the new 272ps, with the face lifted BiTDi only marginally faster. So benefits of standard TDI: £4k ponds less, around 18% more efficient and I presume slightly cheaper to insure? Benefit of BiTDi: V8 soundtrack, slightly faster.

In terms of complexity (a potential cost of repairs) one has the dual clutch auto, the other a second turbo; but if only keeping it during the warranty period I guess this isn't a factor. At the end of the say I guess you pays your money and rakes your choice!

i did notice one other thing regarding spec in that all the diesels will be shipped with the larger fuel tank as standard - so big cruise distances possible on a single tank.

Thanks Sauron, I think the 272 will be fine for me. Plus it means I'll save on fuel and can afford the extras I want!

Plus, if I really wanted, could get it chipped from 272 to 308 which would then be comparable with the bi turbo, if I needed, but doubt I will. Will you loose that v8 sound with the non bi turbo then? That was nice, but sure I can live without.

The dealers name was Stephen Reed at Epsom, great guy, very patient with me!

Id be surprised if drive the deal could beat 15% of list! PLUS an extra 4k dealer contribution on the finance, but I would love to be proved wrong!

I had a call from Drive The Deal yesterday and they said that they should be updating their configurator system this coming Tuesday that will allow you to spec a car with options. Without options available the current discount they show off the Sline ultra with met paint is @ 26.5% (including the 4K solutions discount). Lets see how we go.

in the current model there is an sound module in the exhaust but it is only on the BiTDi, I'm only assuming this will remain the same for the facelift? However, as you say while nice I would agree with your assessment that not essential.

Good luck in your hunt for the best deal, I know you'll love the car whichever one you decide on.

Thanks for this Sauron. I wonder if the non bi turbo has the exhaust enhancer? Another question for my dealer... Hope so....

Just done some comparisons on the finance, and even though the non bi turbo is cheaper, the bi turbo holds it's final value much better (compared to list price), so the cost of ownership is only marginally more expensive for the bi turbo... 36.2% vs 38.9% for the bi turbo. Interesting.

A little more information. The audi configuration page is now up and running for the A7. I think I have got a dealer to offer an 18.25% discount in addition to the 4K with finance. Nothing signed in blood yet but have an agreement in principle.

Will let you know how it pans out.

Spec your car on Carfile - New Car Broker - Massive Discounts (www.carfile.net) first and a chap called Johnathan will call you. He will then send you information to a local Audi dealership and you deal with them.
