Depends on the equipment fitted but yes you'll get the alarm chirp, you'll find a few here - The B7 A4 VAG-COM Modification Walkthrough (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/444354-The-B7-A4-VAG-COM-Modification-Walkthrough)

Oh right ok thanks there is one guy in Doncaster but he hasn't been active since March but one guy in Sheffield might be still active. Might be a stupid question but what is VCDS ? Is it some thing to do with the Ross Tech stuff

I think the Sheffield guy is me (there might be others?) VCDS is a cable and software that connects to your car and allows all sorts of things to be done from diagnostics, to adding extras like you have mentioned above. I am busy this week and off on holiday next week but will be in Sheffield for a night on 12th August. After that I will be working in South Wales and not back until first few weekends if sept.

Happy to help and see what I can enable on your car for a bottle of red?

Yea i think it is lol, well I'm in the Army so away during the week and home weekends, I'm on leave from the 7th of August for a couple of weeks so will have to send you a message and see if your around. I don't know much about what can be achieved, have looked on Ross tech web site they want £200 for the cable and software, some people say it's worth it but I don't know if I'll get the use to be honest, do you use it often ?

I'm in the army too - Royal Signals - hence being in South Wales!

Yeah it's not a cheap cable but can be useful if you have problems and checking Audi have done their servicing correctly etc.

I've used mine a fair amount as the wife and I both have audis and I also volunteer on here so have done plenty of cars for people. If it wasn't for helping out I'd have done all the mods that are possible and probably not used it much after that.

I'm in Catterick at moment but going through my resettlement at minute, I've seen a few mods like 1 click locks, auto windows but I have them already the only one that takes my fancy is the door lock sounds, why didn't Audi put it on as standard ? If it can be programmed to do it after, strange me thinks.

Does it also clear fault codes off? What Mods have you done

I don't know why they don't enable everything they can, just one if them things I think. I enabled all sorts including drive select on the wife's A5 which was a £1500 option and works as it would from the factory.

On mine I have done all of the things here.... VCDS Tricks for the A7 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?154321-VCDS-Tricks-for-the-A7)

I've also done beep on lock, corner lights, aux input and other bits for people on here.

Yeah it can clear fault codes, and warnings too.

No probs. if you like I will show you what's possible and how it's done then you can buy a cable if you want one.

All depends on what your car has as to what you can enable though.
