Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone has found any LED/white rear number plate bulbs that don't throw up dashboard errors? I've just tried my third set which promised to be Canbus and error free but weren't - losing my patience a bit!

Car is a 2009 A3 1.9 TDI Sport 3 door.

Loads of topics on this... I used a kufatec harness which adds on to your additional wiring harness to eliminate the alarm. Or use VCDS to get rid

Well I got those rear plate lights, same part numbers as in that link you gave but still getting an error on the dash :(

Would this solve the problem?

Starting to think this is costing more time, effort and money than its worth!

Which is the issue I had hence why I bought the kufatec harness... Keep the OEM led in their but install the harness and it'll a) look OEM and b) fault free

Thanks. Does that harness come with instructions on where it goes? I assume all you need to do is take the inner plastic boot trim off? I've been reading about that and apparently it's a nightmare!

It's not as bad as it sounds, just make sure ALL the bolts are out... And slowly work your way around, pull outward horizontally to avoid any breaks. I've got a thread on here somewhere with pictures of when I did mine. Search for led number plates and it should pop up. Can't remember if there were instructions but it's a simple plug and play harness. No instructions required to be honest.
