Hey,

Whilst I'm a mechanic myself but not so familiar with these cars yet, I guess I'll grasp it eventually within time like we all do 'aye? :)

Anyways, bonnet doesn't open it did open when I brought it and topped up oil after that no joy done press down on bonnet while someone does the lever to no avail :( so either jammed mechanism, stretched/snapped cable?

If that is the case, do I really have to snap the clips on the grill to gain access to it or can I as Audi said themselves remove under sheet and reach up? It's a A3 2L TDI Sport '04.

That aside, if I tend to use the air-con the cooling fan seems to want to stay on for some time after engine is switched off yet, there's no signs whatsoever of overheating the gauge sits bang on half way as you'd expect a healthy car to do. It runs like a dream so Audi told me don't worry about it, I mean we are getting decent hot weather at the moment so possibly that has something to do with it, hopefully one of you guys should be able to tell if I'm wrong or bang on.

Other than that, this car is absolute buzz! :D

Thanks in advance,
Ben

I had a 2005 1.9tdi and it never did this - even in very hot weather (hotter than now). My current 09 2.0tdi doesn't do this either. So I would say that it isn't normal. Perhaps a VCDS scan would shed some light on what may be the issue.
