I have just bought the car and I'm thinking of getting the DPF stripped of all the filters, and a DPF delete followed by a full engine Remap. I had the DPF removed on my Beemer and a full stainless put on, but now obviously the new MOT law I can't remove it, has anyone else had this done and had any problems, I've looked at mapping quotes it says I'll go from 233BHP to 265BHP which is a nice figure any thoughts

I'll reply to your post, my first on this forum. I'm thinking of getting a tuning box from TDI-Tuning. It's supposed to increase my bhp from ~240 to ~300. I am considering this because I want a tuning solution that's as simple and non intrusive as possible, with the option of reverting back to the original status quo.

Thats quite expensive, I got in touch with a company in Chesterfield they quoted me £240 for the stripping of the DPF the delete and a re map, the main reason I thought about it was I got my last car done and never had any problems, I think I'm going to wait till the DPF gets blocked then pay the 240 instead of the £1500+ for new DPF. I has a A4 S line before and bought some thing similar that just plugs on and to be honest never felt any difference but I didn't pay £200+ if you do that you will have to let us know how you feel it goes.

Be careful having the DPF removed as MOT test centres are being instructed by DoT to check them. If found to have been removed fines are reported to be in the region if £1000.
