I have a 2008 seat alhambra 2.0tdi
when engine cold starts lovely but when temp is up as normal and turn of engine it will turn over easy but will go to around 600 revs then die straight away until engine is cool again then it will start no problems. Have read forums and noticed users with the same faults and have since changed the crank sensor first and still does it. And now have changed the cam sensor unit and still dies when at high temp.the battery is 100% ok the starter is new. Fuel injectors were replaced 6 months ago and had recently had new erg valve fitted because that was blocked. And now when u come to slow down at a junction or traffic lights the revs go down to around 550 until u stop bit then climb back up to 850 revs as it should but quite a few times it will drop straight down to stall the engine but I drop the clutch again to bump it before it stalls as I no it won't start again due to the non startling issue I have already. No faults come up on the lap top when plugged in either so my few hairs I have left are getting less and less.
Any help please
thanks Dave

What was it scanned with? Have you researched the possibility it might be the coolant temperature sensor?

Welcome to VWAF.

Excuse my ignorance I don't no what you call the scan but My dads garage which is a Bosch garage he has a computer which checks everything going on with a vehicle but no fault codes come up at all. He is so confused now and says its like looking for a needle in a haystack. I drove the car home tonight then the stalling thing started to happen it was like the engine was choking. I pulled over took the filter out of the air box and ran for a while but still wanted to stall but only to say about every 1 in about 20 stops it wanted to stall.

bosch kts will pick up any codes going . did he do any live data ? you need to drive with the computer connected and look at the coolant temp, see if it drops out or does anything strange. there is more to it than just looking for codes.

Will try again in the morning on a run out but confused as to now why and then it wants to stall and also some times when about to stop it sort of wants to stall when revs go down to around 600 ?????

if the cts is sending duff info then the fuelling will be all over the place. might not be the cts (coolant temp sender), but it might be. a diagnostic computer is only as good as the operator and it might not be an electrical fault.

Car still doesn't want to start when hot and now I have now changed the air filter, fuel filter and crank sensor and the cam sensor have checked the temp on the computer is reading the same as the temp gauge whilst driving aswell and somebody suggested that the wiring loom that comes up from the bulk head under the header tank can have a bare wire as this rubs sometimes on these cars and can cause a problem like this. We found a bare wire so we thought result fixed it and still does it.it has now been to a specialists garage with hi tech equipment there computer found no faults with the electrical or fuel but they found a small fuel leak and fixed it. Now I have a slightly improved power performance but they got car running at the hot temp level and it started all the time for them but when I picked up the car had it for about an hour it's still doing it. To start the car I have to keep turning the key and my foot on the pedal for about 5 seconds and it will always start then bit this isn't ideal but if you wait 20 to 30 minutes when the temp has dropped to about 70 degrees it will always start then. To say this is now doing my head in is a undistaintment
please help dave
