Servicing problems

Recently I had my Audi A4 1.6 serviced from a non-audi garage. The car was in perfect order and no electrical and mechanical problems. But after the sevice has been carried out the engine mangement system light came on and I took it back to the garage. Using their computer diagnostic system, they state that my air flow sensor is faulty and needs replacing. But they do not take any responsibility for this. I can't understand this as the car was perfect order before they serviced it.

Please advise.
