Dear friends,

I currently own a a6 2.7 tdi quattro (2011) with 64k milage. I was looking for a new car. I found one a7 black edition (21 inch 5 spoke rotor alloys) in phantom black. Its an ex demonstrate car not yet registered. Extra option included is only technology pack (not advanced) and storage pack. And it arrived on september 2013. After big negotiation dealer is asking for 38900. Do you guys think its a good deal?

I paid 68k for a 2011 that had 30k on the speedo!
The price new for this in Norway was 125k in 2011!

Hell. I could go for a top of the market range rover for that sort of money. How is the ride?

Assuming it is the 245PS, not the 204PS, you can get a brand new factory order for £41,360 (inc. metallic paint and Tech pack), so £2,460 more expensive.

How many miles has the car got on it?

Hi silo24,

Its 245ps and unregistered not driven before so 0 miles. So i can get a black edition with tech pack for £41360? I was looking at their online configuration but was showing nearly 55k.

If it's brand new, 0 miles and unregistered, it's NOT ex demo, just a stock vehicle.

Check out drivethedeal.com for the price I mentioned.....

It's not a bad deal but I think you could probably get a better one by shopping around, I would imagine there are a few March registered cars knocking around at the moment which dealers would be keen to shift

I saw a 204ps Quattro black edition with 0 miles on a 14 plate with a few toys for 39999 recently which I though was a decent price

I'd probably avoid buying new just now as facelift model just round the corner (see earlier thread). Even with a decent discount, the initial depreciation will be savage. And no doubt the facelift model will attract similar mega discounts within a couple of months of launch. Alternatively look at a 1-2 year old heavily specced car at no more than 50% of list.

dno_uk and jk88,

Thanks for your reply. I think i will wait for facelift then.

I doubt Audi will discount the new model for a long time, they will want to protect residuals for as long as possible and I would imagine there will be a list price increase too so IMO now would be a good time to buy - either new or used

Supply and demand will not be affected in any material way and discounts will be maintained (maybe with a brief honeymoon period of a couple of months). From then on expect the discounts to increase beyond today's as the the A7 will then be heading towards a completely new model a few years later. Then, and only then, would you expect discounts to be reduced ... briefly.

There isn't a facelift A7 yet. It's due to be released later this year.

If the car has been used as a demonstrator then it's not a great price but if it's new then it's ok. Personally I'd try drive the deal for a brand new car

New model/facelift . . . either way you won't get 10-15k discount like you would now, plus they will probably put list price up
