Hi,
I have had my 16v for a year and recently encountered an intermittent fault. The car will start, could travel some distance (nothing specific) without problems. I stop, go away for a while(again not specific), come back and no start. When i check the car there is no spark at the king lead. I have been recovered many times now, and the frustrating thing is that the car starts when i get back. This fault can happen at any time, normally when the the engine is warm.
I have changed the coil, distributor cap and rotor arm. I think it might be the hall sensor? Any ideas?
I have bought a Fault Code Reader(FCR) to interogate the ECU. I can find the 16 pin socket in the dash next to the ash tray, but where is the 4 pin socket for flash code readers?
This fault is driving me mad because i had a yearly service at VW with no faults found just 2 months ago! :zx11:
