VW Scirocco - Rear parking sensors display and beep not working

Hi all,

looking to see if anyone has experienced this problem before and knows of a likely solution. I have a 59 plate scirocco with factory standard rear parking sensors. They have been working fine until the other day, now when i put the car into reverse the radio volume lowers, reverse lights come on, but the visual display doesn't show up not does the audible sounds (beeps). Ive checked to see if the sensors are working (turned ignition key but not started the car, put ear next to all sensors and can hear them clicking sound) and they all are....any ideas?

Ideally you need a fault code scan done. Could be a dead control module.

Does it beep once then die, or is there nothing at all?

Could be a failed sensor, as to prevent you relying on them the system shuts down if a sensor fails.

Get someone to activate the PDC and then listen to each sensor in turn, should be a faint ticking noise from each one. If one isn't making a noise requires replacement. Only a few £'s of Fleebay!

Mine is doing the same, have you cured it and if so how.
