Hello,

I've change my Halogen DRLs to LED and took some pics so thought I might as well share these:

Required tools and parts:
- 4 cover caps supplied by Local Audi Dealer - mine selling for £14 each !!! A bit rip off for what they are ;)
- T30 HEX bit and a long screw driver - to remove the headlights
- Stanley knife

The caps part no is 8J0 941 607 and they look like:

24436

How to:

1. Remove 4 HEX screws (locations marked below) to relase the headlight unit - you will also need to unscrew the plastic radiator cover to get to the screw on the side

24437

2. Using Stanley knife cut out the blank plates (marked below) but do it slowly as the cables are right underneath:

24438

3. Remove the bulb by turning it left (I had to use pliers ;)). You might need to unplug the cable first as there is not much space inside.

4. Replace the bulbs with LED replacement (forgot to take a pic of these !!!) :(

5. Cover the holes with caps and done :)

Is there a website for these trups lights? I'm very interested in doing this as the outcome looks amazing. Thanks for the step by step guide as well

As in dipped and main?

Dipped on the outside of the headlight and then another for main on the inside.

Hello,

Did you have to take the bumper off to get to the headlight unit??

Kuli,

There is a plastic cover held in by 4 screws just inside the front of the car - remove and easy access to the lights.

Thanks for the reply, I haven't got an A4 yet but looking to get one. Lol. This could be the first mod I do to it!

It took me less than an hour, there's a few pics on my 'old vs new' thread below.
If you can't get to the <REMOVED> or they don't have the replacement caps then cut out the original carefully and glue back in place, worked for me.

How large is the hole cut out? Could the cut-out plastic be placed back in with Sikaflex to seal it?

How large is the hole cut out - check the headlight and post nr1, yes you can put back cut-out plastic with silicone etc...

The hole is marked in the plastic with a thicker ring of plastic, almost a tube, cut just inside this.
I used a clear silicone and because of the short tube there was plenty of surface to stick the piece back to.

You can use anything that fits to seal the holes. The only purpose of these is to prevent from any dirt and particles getting inside the lights. I opted for Audi caps so it looks nice and tidy ;)
