Hi
My car let me know that it is service time yesterday.
Going to do the oil filter and oil, air filter and brake fluid.
I noticed that the rear brake pads need done aswell. I was going to just do the pads as the discs look to be in good condition apart from a small lip on them.
Was wondering what you guy's think about maybe doing the discs at the same time as the pads ? Or should I be ok ?

Thanks.

Marko.

In all honesty Chris, I don't know.
They look in reasonable condition from what I can see.

Suppose if you could get the discs for a good price then you may aswell. Try VW on Boucher, they do 'economy' parts (still genuine VW but they're cheaper) so could be cheaper than ECP on Falcon Rd.

If I was going to get the discs, it would be GSF, they have already quoted £20 for a set of rear brake pads, thats their expensive ones. What I have found previously with discs and pads from GSF is that they give terrible brake squeel, having bought a set of pads and discs for the front, so maybe not GSF. Will give VW a fone in a minute and see what they can do.
The wee car is in getting a clutch today, so I'm getting cleaning withdrawel symptoms !!

Right, here goes.
VW economy pads £24.77 all in for a set. They don't do economy discs. Ordinary price for pads £39.64 and ordinary price for discs £62.81
GSF £20 for a set of pads and £12 each for the cheap rear discs and £16 for the expensive discs.

Which make(s) are GSF supplying?

The cheap discs are V-Tech and the expensive ones are Jurid. Difference of £2 each !
