Coupe Quattro 92

Hi All,

New to this forum.
Driving 92 Coupe Quattro 10v. Great drive but has a few niggly problems.
Water temp gauge goes upto half way then drops down to zero and stays at zero. I'm assuming thermostat opens and cools down but ther must be something wrong some where. Oil temp stays pretty constant at arouds 80.
Any Ideas??

Hi, I had the same problem with my '90 coupe quattro.
It is the sender unit.
This is the one on the underside of the housing where the rad hose enters the block.
The original one was 4-pin but the later ones are only 3-pin.
