Stolen Keys.

My daughter has just had her handbag stolen from a pub In Edinburgh. Apart from the usual clutter in it, she lost her car key and the front of her Sony CDMP3 player. She still has a spare key. Does anyone know how she might get a new spare key for her 97 Polo. The local VW dealer wasn't interested in helping her out. I understand that there is a chip of some sort in the key but she doesn't have the original documentation for the car i.e. no serial numbers etc. Any info would be gratefully received.

Yes she can get a new key. The dealer can remove the original adapted keys and insert the new adapted keys. At least, the stolen key will not start the car.

found a very good VAG dealer at Sighthill, in the same estate as Makro. Used them 6 months ago to programme keys for a caddy van.
