Does anyone know if this is the DAB aerial built into the rear windscreen?

Avants had DAB antenna as standard as far as I know.

Really? But it looks like a DAB antenna and FM is connected on the other side as below:

Cheers Chris :-)

Looking to purchase a Dension DAB+U to connect to my AMI, as this seems to be the easiest option to fit and has good integration.

I'm pretty sure my rear screen is the same as yours (on my early 2009 car) and I am using it for my MMI 3G DAB radio. It has worked fine for me (although I might just be lucky). There are many variations of antenna amplifiers depending if you have TV, 2G, 3G. I use an 8k5 035 225E which is the 2G DAB one but seems to work OK with my MMI 3G radio. I think the 8K5 035 225AC is the MMI 3G one but they are less common on eBay.

Hi Stonner,

This is where I get confused ... I have a concert stereo and no controls around the gear stick ... What do I have ... 2G ... 3G ... Hi ... Low?

With regards to the aerial being built into the rear windscreen, I am assuming that there are several aerials built in.
On the passenger side I have an amplifier 8K5 035 225 J which is already connected, but on the drivers side I have the wires but no amplifier.

Does the Letter at the end of the part number change what the part is for?

If you have a concert radio you don't have MMI 2G or 3G, but you should be able to use the DAB amplifiers 2G or 3G with a Concert III radio with DAB (the black connector mentioned above) The passenger side amplifier is for AM/FM and remote central locking which you have. The driver side is for DAB or TV which you don't have.

AUDI part numbers are guaranteed to give you headache.

So I have the aerial built into the glass, I just need an amplifier?

I was looking to add a Dension DAB+U that will plug into the USB on my AMI in the glovebox.
As I'm not using an Audi radio, there might be some other way to amplify it like buying one that sticks onto a windscreen and modifying it to utilise the aerial in the windscreen?

I Know this is from an A5, but it looks right, and has the right letter. What do you think?
