Just replaced my alarm siren as it was beeping, £82 from an Audi Dealer,

My car is a 99 A4 TDi 110 SE

Word of warning if you plan to replace yours.

the replacement item is not the same shape as the original part, and the fastening bolt on it is too big to go through the existing hole on the bracket,
this hole need to be bored out by a few of mm, even then the unit won't fit back into the original place - tha bracket doesnt fit properly, managed to fudge mine so it fits.

(i went back to Audi and complained, they bored out the bracket for me,
and supplied the correct sized nut - i still managed to fit it myself after that)

They also found on their ordering system, a note on the item stating that workshop modification is required to fit it...... cheeky buggers.

so just a word of warning, that what looks to be a straight forward one for one swap - isn't

cheers

Just had my Siren out today and rather than buy a complete unit, I took a hack saw to the existing unit and have soldered in a replacement battery to the same spec at the old too.

Just gluing it back together now and will test it in a bit.

Got to be worth a try, hate giving Audi money for nothing!
