Hi all, just bought myself an old A4 B5 1.9TDi. High miler and a bit tatty, but was desperate for an estate at the time, and it came along. Engine runs as sweet as anything, pulls really well and still returns near as dammit 50 to the gallon, and I must admit I am not the worlds most slowest driver. Got a few things I need to do, such as the stereo volume control is a bit iffy, rear wiper motor has stripped a few teeth of the plastic gear, and for some reason only 1 side of the indicators flash when locking/unlocking the beast, they all work normally otherwise. Ah well I do love a challenge. My past includes best part of 36 years in the motor trade, mainly on the diagnostic side for GM and Ford, but since I retired I have got into diagnosing the occasional VW and Skoda. I look forward to discovering new talents working on the old beast, and helping others if and when I can.
