2 words that did not come of of my mouth today!

Woke up this morning to torrential rain and a flat front tyre on the S4, huge nail in side wall.
Both fronts were are 3-4mm so decided to change the front as a matched pair.

Finally after an hour of phoning up local dealers and tyre suppliers found some one with stock of new rubber I stuck with the OE Pirelli p7 that came of the car I have found them to be a great tyres with good grip in all weathers and 20k miles of mixed driving with plenty of tread left I can't really grumble.

while it was up on the ramp the mechanic noticed I have sprung quite an oil leak from the rear gearbox oil seal.
I'm kinda glad I got the puncture now!

while it was up on the ramp the mechanic noticed I have sprung quite an oil leak from the rear gearbox oil seal.

Snap! While mine was at an independent MOT place they pointed out rear diff leaking oil that the main dealer either hadn't noticed or had forgot to mention a week earlier ... ended up having drive shafts and seals replaced within days of the warranty expiring.

Is yours sports diff?

[Edit] Duh! the S4's are all sports diff aren't they?

Funnily enough my warranty expires in a couple Of months too!
It's the seal on the gearbox side that's leaking where the rear prop shaft comes out.
The thought of the dsg running out oil sends a shiver through my wallet
