Have completed the VCDS tips listed in the forum, thanks to all involved.. not tried the hidden menu though, sounds a bit iffy to me !

The one I am having problems with is the high beam assist change. Modual 20 doesn't seem to exist. Although the car does have high beam assist..
any ideas ?

Are you sure it's not called something else or a different module number?

Using genuine vcds, up to date? What year is your car?

Cars 2014, VCDS is new and genuine. Will have another look and see if I can see it in some other module. Thanks

It could be because the lights are adaptive with high beam. Not sure if anyone can confirm that ?

My wife's A5 has high beam assist with adaptive xenons and I changed her settings using module 20.

One of my friends has a MY14 A6, and whilst it definately has high beam assist, it doesn't have a module 20 or any other module dedicated to it. It's an S-Line with standard fit Xenons. We searched through many other likely modules, but didn't find anything that was related to HBA. Maybe one for the A6 forum?

Thanks for that... I've also looked around various modules and as you say cannot find anything related.
Will try A6 boys and see if that brings anything

Ive checked and its defo module 20. if you cant find it, try typing 20 into the direct entry box and hit go. If it doesnt find it I can only assume you dont have HBA. Mine is the 4th down on the left in the image below.

It may not be so clear cut. I have LED headlights with HBA and module 20 as per M1tchy. My friend (MY14 A6) has Xenon headlights with HBA but no module 20. I can only assume it's part of another module, but we've struggled to identify which one.

Had another search and as jk88 says there's no module 20, cannot see anything else related to HBA.
but car does have HBA and adaptive lights, see pics. Just in case I even went out in the dark ! and they work too..
so unless anyone else has any great ideas looks like a drawn game for now..

Perhaps LED lights require module 20 to work HBA, and xenons do not. My understanding was that a camera in the rear view mirror housing triggered the HBA, but I remember seeing a A7 with LED which did not have this camera but had HBA. So perhaps the night vission sensors or the adaptive cruise or lane assist sensors trigger the HBA instead of the camera. Just a thought as I don't have HBA and wish I did.
