Should I swap my Vauxhall Insignia for an A8 (D3)?

Hi guys, new to the forum,
Just a quick question,
what are your views on me swapping my mums Vauxhall Insignia CDTi 160 SE for a 2005 (55) A8L 3.0 Multitronic with FSH and 100,000 ODO?
It's safe to say, my mum is not the best when it comes to cars, for example, she bought the insignia because it looked nice, and has had nothing but problems since. :zx11:
The only thing stopping her atm is the fact that is an older car than what she has at the moment, even though it has less miles.
Also, fuel economy is not a problem atm either.
Could you please give me some pointers on what to do.
Are the A8s Reliable?
should we actually go to an older car?
And lastly, this is the Ad, is this worth it?

well the a8 is a fantastic car, but a rich mans car, so if you are prepared for large bills if anything goes wrong, then go for it. the insignia is also a great car, but a vauxhall. do you need an executive express though, would something like a polo or golf not be more suitable ?

Thank you for your reply,
I know what you mean with the Golf thing, but my mum does like to drive massive cars, (as in she prefers to drive a van than the insignia),
Secondly, she is having to do a load of motorway miles lately, and also probably for the next 2 years (driving from Cardiff, South Wales, to North Wales on a weekly basis).

Still wouldn't touch it at that age, plus it has the gearbox of the devil so I wouldn't personally would never consider one with multitronic!

I'd get something newer, for the reasons mentioned - that looks a little tired, low-spec example and the nearside headlight looks like it has been submerged in a flood.

And that car doesn't appear to be a quattro. Which is all part of the Audi thing, for me at least...
