Hi,

Currently running stock 17" 7 arm alloys on my A4Avant B8 2009 SE 2.0 TDI and want to upgrade to 18" 5 spoke (seen here Genuine 18" Audi S Line alloy wheels with pirelli tyres, immaculate condition | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-18-Audi-S-Line-alloy-wheels-with-pirelli-tyres-immaculate-condition-/171266323813?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_ Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item27e044b565#ht_207wt_1399)) from an A5 2013.

Apology - sorry I'm a ludite and can't get to the car at the moment but am assured that there's enough knolwedge on this site to answer the question.

Question - Will they fit on my car (plug and play so to speak) - the manual says yes for size but doesn't talk to offset. It is, however, the offset that's making me scratch my head. It's billed on the 18" as 29 and I think the stock 17" are 45.

Anyone shed some light?

Andy

I think I've answered my own question after some digging around on the forum ( A5 18" wheels on an A4 S Line Avant (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?119352-A5-18-quot-wheels-on-an-A4-S-Line-Avant)) This post believes that the 18" rim from the A5 will stick out too much, which I read as potentially leading to a rubbing problem or the wheels not fitting in the first place.

Can anyone persuade me otherwise?

Do you know the width of your current wheels?

Assume they're 7.5 wide then you have 7.5 x 17" ET45 and the A5 wheels are 8.5 x 18" ET 29

You'll gain 3mm more clearance on the inside edge but the outside edge will protrude another 29mm.

Grab a ruler and see if that extra 30mm pushes the wheels out from under the arches or not.

Bought a set of a5 18 s lines like the ones your looking at only tried one on the front and it stuck out about an inch past the wing which is a NCT fail here in Ireland so I sent them back and got a genuine set of a4 s lines instead luckily the crowd I bought them off (auto alloys.com) have a 100% fient guarrentee or your money back
