What's This For

On my new A4 to the left of the gear leaver there is a black rectangle with slots in......what is it for, storing coins, pieces of paper, business cards....lol
I have had 3 Audi's but this is the first time this 'facility' has been present

I was just about to say (as Mitchy has above)...they are coin holders, but are an epic-fail because they only hold euros. So they literally are useless for the one job they are meant to perform...

Coin holders... It fits my local currency. Even after some spirited driving, the coins are still there. Lol.
