ive had remaps and chip tuning boxes. Remaps are well worth the money. Id strongly advise against chip boxes.

To be honest mate all in all theres minimal difference. You will notice bags more power and lift. I cant argue though as im gettin close to 400 mile on £50 clear diesel. Not bad for a 15 year old motor with 180K on the clock.

hmm back in 2010, I had an 04 Tiptronic 130BHP PD Passat, auto. Beauty to drive but it was a bit more thirsty lol I was out about £60 a week then for around 250-300 mile a week. I defo find manuals easier run. Have to say I cant see me ever changing from golfs now. Bit less room, but they just run soo smooth and are real eye catcher. Thinkin of a 130PD mark 4 next and mapping it to 175. Hard to get a genuine fsh one though, especially over here.

I've got the tdi-tuning box installed that control fuel and boost. They advertise it as +40bph and more torque and up to 20% improvement in fuel economy. It's probably hard to believe but I bought a tuning box to improve my fuel economy but sadly never saw this improvement. I still get 50mpg.. But the engine is a lot smoother and there is noticeable power delivery in the lower gears, it just pulls! the experience is completely different and it's a lot more fun to drive now. I've had it installed for about 4 months now and had no problems or faults, it just would've been nice to see better fuel economy.

What size is your engine? I went from a Golf 105bhp to A3 140bhp, which is now 182bhp with the tuning box, I probably couldn't do without it now that I know how much more fun it is to drive yet it is still performing at the same fuel economy as before.

The good thing with tdi-tunin g is that you get a trial of 2 weeks, if you don't like it then they offer a no quibble money back.

Hi All,

I have just ordered a new A6 tdi 177 and the car is arriving end May. Just checking who makes the best box under 400 quid? I have looked at DTUK, DTS, Chip Express and Spider and trying to figure out what to get? Many thanks
