I have a Nexus 4 bext phone I've ever had, and the 5 is supposed to be even better from what I've seen.

But....it depends what you want. The biggest plusses to a Nexus are the value for money and the timely updates.

My Nexus 4 started on 4.1 then was updated to 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, and now 4.4.2.

The Nexus 5 is still bleeding edge compared to even the Galaxy S5.

Bad points (Nexus 5), battery isn't the biggest and camera is ok and storage isn't expandable, however I use Google's cloud for backup without issue as I'm on unlimited data.

Ring them up and threaten to leave. I do that every time until they give me a deal I'm happy with.

I've done that no joy:( I can upgrade early for £36 they wouldn't wave that fee or I can leave altogether for £42 they won't tell me if there's any better tariff available with them, because I'm still in contract! as said the cheapest is £32 unlimited min text 1gb data which is enough for me, but then again you do get the 32gb phone which only 02 do swings and roundabouts I guess

How long have you got left on your contract?

The alternative, if you can afford it, is to go SIM free, buy the phone from Google Play (£339 for 32Gb) https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_5_32_GB_Bright_Red?id=nexus_5_red_32gb and then just get the SIM of your choice.

E.g Three do 600 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited internet for £15.90/month.

SIM free from Google Play - 16Gb (which you'll struggle to fill) and black (because you're a man) - £300.

Best phone you'll ever buy to date.

Drop to the lowest/cheapest SIM only contract and enjoy the savings.

can't afford outright was thinking of putting on int free cc and paying monthly but then I'll still have to pay £10 - £15 pm for a sim

Sadly that means you'll have to have some interaction with Craphone Warehouse.

I'd rather chew my own leg off.

Love my Nexus 5. Reception is better than any of the iPhones of the peeps at work. Had it 3 months and had no problems with the Android 4.4 OS. Bought mine from the Google Play store and got an EE 4G pay as you go sim.

Good choice :arms::arms:

What did you have before, if it was another Android phone, you will be able to download all your apps again without paying twice, I'm not sure about the situation with WP8 and/or iOS.

if you bought from google store with your last phone, the license will be retained. if it's from the apple store, you'll need to buy again for use on the nexus - sucks but that's the way it works.

I've got a nexus 4, bought sim free and currently use the tesco £10 tariff.

Best thing I ever did and it's saved me a small fortune compared to the typical 2 year contract.

If I get rubbish service, I bin the provider off and move elsewhere.

If you log in with the same gmail address with contacts, etc will be automatically transferred, also with G+, all your photos will be backed up without you having to do anything, you can also use dropbox, box etc if you wish.
