Hello,

Recently obtained a rather large scratch/gouge along the skirting of my Audi. I'd like to blame the absurdly tight lanes at the car park where it was obtained, or perhaps the driver behind me who wasn't particularly helpful while I tried to maneuver the car to avoid getting said scratch... but really it was all my fault. Balls.

It's deep. It seems there is a lot of fibre glass (maybe??) but it's gone right through all of that, and there is definitely metal showing in places.

So, I've seen there are various scratch kits available, even some halfords own - but I'm assuming they're just a bit rubbish. If anyone is able to point me in the direction of an off-the-self kit which is actually decent, or body specialist in and around the Reading area that is worth chatting to - thank would be fantastic.

Thanks in advanced.

welcome to the forum.
ok, so thats a bad thing to repair really as its in the textured rubberised stonechip. very hard to match it without doing the whole sill. with paint you can just do the damage but that will need repairing then the sill re finishing. i would just find a good body shop, preferably an audi one.

Chips Away will sort that for under £200

Avoid Chips Away unless you have seen their work (Franchised) and i've had some and heard of bad experiences :zx11: with them. Go back to Audi for the peace of mind evenif it hurts the wallet!

If you don't get it done with Audi, it'll muller your anti-corrosion warranty. Worth bearing in mind....

Interested to hear your replies. I have a small dent in mine caused by sliding into a railing off a snowy roundabout, I was lucky really as it slid for ages, just managed to get it to turn in time before collision so it just clipped that bit and bounced off causing a small dent. Any later I would have hit it head on....anyway lol I asked Audi about getting it fixed once and they said barely worth doing as it would need a whole new sill as there isn't much you can work with, not easily accessible etc
