Hey all,

the car already has parking sensors all round, with graphic display on mmi but can I fit a camera at the rear or not?

if so what's needed and what's the likely cost?

I thought you needed the factory fitted TV with this ? or the tv receiver as well to supply video for the camera.

3G is different than 2G and doesn't require the tuner.

I have ordered an XCarlink rearview numberplate light and module, just waiting for delivery. Bought the module for £125 and camera for £30 (both new) hoping to fit this weekend if it arrives in time

Installing the numberplate light camera now, xcarlink works a treat. Just need a more stable earth then running the cables under kick trims etc but happy enough so far

Looks good. Do you have a photo of the camera itself to see how well it integrates with the car? Missed this option off my Q5 so am interested in this.

How much dissembling of the car was involved and are there fly leads from the LCD screen to connect to or did you have to remove it?

Sorry for all the questions :)

Just out of curiosity, when you got the Q5 how much was it for the option for camera?

It's just that the A4 led option on the 2010 technik was about £1500? But to get it retro it's more. Like £2500 plus (I think)

Are options worth the extra? I think so..

I bought a numberplate light camera so integrates well, I will upload a photo tomorrow. Fitting wasn't too bad removed the boot trim lining and glovebox, radio, air con unit etc. It took me around 3-4 hours all in but that was taking my time and hiding all the wires etc. I bought the xcarlink unit off ebay. Basically it plugs into all your existing wiring looms very plug and play

It was only £350 extra as I had ordered the Tech Pack High, but when I tried the camera on the demo car I really couldn't get on with it, so used that money on more extras. Since then I had one on a hire car and once I gave it more time I loved it so I kicked myself a bit over that!

I can get the OEM camera fitted for around £800 but Im not sure I want to have the car pulled apart too much.

That looks very OEM, thanks for uploading.

Just need to decide now if I have the courage to full the car apart.
