Hi All,

Newbies here.. I'm planning on getting the wifey a used A4 for her 30th. But I've got the problem of deciding which!?

The two cars are:
58reg S Line 104k Misano red xenon but no cruise
&
60reg technik 98k solid red cruise start stop no xenon

.. Both have leather both are 2 tdi and both have nav and parking..

but it I can decide which one! My heart says 58 but head says 60..

if only the technik came with xenon it would be perfect!! But I'd have to spend extra to fit them!

Does anyone know how much it would cost to fit them? Including all the auto levelling and wash system? Not to mention the bumper modification!?

Please help!

thanks
Keiron

If you really want the upgraded head lights I would buy one that has it fitted. Retro fit ones look messy under the bonnet with the power boxes and extra wiring. Kit will probably cost around 100-150 then plus fitting. As for the head light washers it might cause you more of a head ache. They both sound like nice motors though.

You wanting the DRL's too I assume? get the one with the spec you want.

cruise is a cheap retrofit option though ;)

Engine wise , there is little to choose between the 143 and the 136 in my opinion !

You'd be mad to buy a car without xenons, and the cruise is a cheap and easy retrofit.

Check that wifey would be happy with a rather Hard S Line suspension!

Seen both cars now... And they both look amazing haven't driven any yet though want to get a feel for the price first.

Got another question, done the hpi on both look ok but the sline hasn't had any mileage recorded since 2011 @78k should I be worried? I know from experience that taxis do have mots and not record the mileage. How can I check if this has been a taxi?

i would be the fourth keeper.. I'm in two minds! It's got really nice spec. Bluetooth, nav, led xenon, Milano red, 19" rotor alloys parking system+. It's currently got 104k milage bodywork is good (engines got a slight tick but I haven't heard others to compare) what would be a reasonable offer price!?

thank for all you help!
cheers

Thanks for all the advice,

I've contacted Audi, the price they've quoted for cruise install is £500 and £54 to programme a key, they also confirmed the service history apart from the 70K service not being done by audi in 2011, when the cambelt was supposed to have been sorted.

Now only a couple of things to sort!, the sline badge has faded and needs replacing (can this be done), and take for a test drive!

Thanks for everything!

Parts for the cruise retrofit would be just £200ish.
The cost of coding a key is small compared to the £180 for the key itself.

way too expensive for cruise, I sourced the parts of ebay and got an indi garage to fit all in for under £200

I seem to remember , it cost me £288 to have cruise fitted to my 2.0 TDI SE by my main dealer :)

Didn't think that was a bad price.

Thanks for all the responses!

Settled on the 60reg technik, little disappointed that it doesn't have xenons but ill get one with them in the future!

Now just have to keep quiet about it until her birthday! Anyone got any surprise ideas?

Thanks
