I have always rather fancied the All LED headlights on the A7, but couldn't really justify the cost when ordering, went for other options. Now recently have sourced a brand new pair of full LED headlights for my S-line A7 for a very good price and am about to pull the trigger and retrofit them, but having second thoughts and just thought I'd seek the opinion of those who have them, compared to the standard bi-xenon headlights (non adaptive) that I have.
What makes it more difficult is that its for me its a choice between two things, either the LED headlight retrofit or the BiTdi active sound exhaust with the V8 soundtrack retrofit, can't do both cost limiting. I'm leaning towards the headlights but need some true and honest impressions from any with insight on them please.
Need some help . . . . . .
Thanks

Well when I drive the wife's A5 with xenons I now think that either a bulb is out or someone has fitted halogens! The LED lights are so bright, so white and look amazing. I really really struggle driving a works car with halogen bulbs now!

100% worth the cost.

Also, I don't think the exhaust sound is that great. Yeah it's nice but it's not a proper V8 soundtrack. Given the choice between the lights and exhaust, it's a no brainer for me. You are welcome to have a look at the LED lights in action if you are ever this way. I think I've written a review if the LED lights on here somewhere?

I have matrix led headlights on my A7, I would say it's one of the best bits of tech on the car.

Hi jay10

I had the multitronic A7, and figured out that there wasn't too much different in the cars with the active sound system and those without (in the A7 range) this was before you could buy the kits to do this, you can now by the way, have a look on eBay and I think some dealerships and possibly even Audi themselves sell the hardware standalone now. Once you have your kit, the fitting of the exhaust back boxes is the trickiest bit and means you will most certainly need some help to remove the current boxes and replace them with the active boxes to do that its best to get the car off the ground, primarily for access as you will need to remove both wheel well covers. By fortune or misfortune whichever way you look at it, my car was damaged by an overzealous delinquent road user (not me) and needed some work done on the rear quarter panel. The Audi approved bodyshop agreed to remove the original backboxes and in their stead install the active boxes and run the harness lines from the boxes to the the car's rear right electronic hub in the rear. We have a good relationship and they did that as part of the work that they needed to do on the car. I just had to do the coding with vcds, with the help of some instructions from these (http://maxhaust.de/audi/a7-4g/komplett-set-active-sound-audi-a7-4g.html) guys who supplied the bulk of the hardware I needed. It was an ambitious project but it worked flawlessly, till I sold the car and then had to reverse everything that wasn't easy as I had to do that myself, but it was more loosening exhaust clamps stripping the installed additional harness. Like I said you can now buy the complete kit from places like kufatec (https://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/sound-booster-pro/audi/complete-set-active-sound-incl-sound-booster-audi-a6-a7-4g), I would suggest though that you get help actually installing the boxes, speak to your local dealer or VAG specialist, unless you have access to a car lift and are good with stepped instructions. If you decide to go ahead I'll gladly share more of what little I know if it will help.
