Over the last few weeks I've had to commute from south west wales to Cornwall and back. It's only about 50 miles away but due to the water that's in the way its a 300 mile round trip. On the twisty back roads I've had the car in auto but on the long A roads and motorways it's been in Eco. On filling up, the computer now says I will get over 600 miles from a tank....and I am doing. Pretty happy with that considering the engine, Quattro and power of the car. Really happy with those figures.

Start using fuelly and it'll calculate your mpg over tank to tank over how long you enter data into it.

Is that an app or something?

It's a website... Link in my sig.

I currently use an app called fuel friend (Android, unsure if it's on the Apple store) which I use to track my fuelups and then import the data to fuelly every few weeks....

It's weird. Bought the car for style, tech, power etc but get a real kick out of the mpg. Clever devils those krauts.

For me it's so long between fill-ups (since no longer doing the mileage) I just don't think worthwhile having to input the data, only ever fill when warning light comes on and (courtesy of fuel vouchers/nectar points) never pay more than £1.23ppl and always buy 100l worth with jerry cans.

Can hardly wait to get an A7 with supposedly better MPG than my A6...but that's at least 2-3yrs off :(

I got really really good figures recently. Was in convoy with the mrs in her A5 and I had about 5 mpg more!
