Hello,

Not sure if this has been answered elsewhere but i am having problems finding an result.

I have recently purchased a 2009 A6 LeMans edition and my MMI unit has as follows:

All control buttons around the MMI Wheel (No joystick), colour screen and a module unit in the glove box with 'multimedia' branded on the unit with 2 x SD cards.

I think the unit is a 3G model, but need some advice from experts on the forum.

AND

When activating the bluetooth it attempts to search for approximately 4-6 seconds and then reads that no devices found, Mobile phones also cannot find the Audi bluetooth signal.

And

When i press the Nav button it reads 'Navigation not available at the time', so not sure how this can be rectified.

I have been on the menu option and cannot find the SW codes but i have found under the engineering menu, current train version : P0020_ADJBK_FIX
MU Software: 0040

Audi have quoted me £105 for a software update but also stated that this may not clear the issue

Has anyone come across this issue before and know of any way to resolve bluetooth and SAT problems??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

regards

Kevin

You have 3G Low.

I suggest getting a fault code scan as these are complicated systems, I also suggest getting the update done also.

Let Audi do their update as it all has to be activated/approved online with Germany.

Has this been playing up for a while?

Maybe a daft question....in the glovebox is there both a CD player and a DVD player....have seen some where previous owner has removed the DVD player...which is the Sat nav media!

If there was a device removed from the optical loop the system wouldn't function

I only have 1 module in the glove box and it looks exactly like the attached pic

Chris,

Is there any way of establishing if something has been removed?

Guest 2

Nothing would work, you'd get as far as the MMI splash screen and no further. I assume the gap beside your sd card thing has a back on it and doesn't disappear into nowhere?

Correct, the side of the module is only the rest of the glovebox, which is fully intact.

Yogi

The side is set out as per a normal glove box, no alterations visible.

Then you're not missing anything, there was an optional cd changer for 3G which would be in that other slot so nothing's missing.

I suggest getting the firmware update done by Audi and go from there. If you press TEL the SETUP can you search for your phone then?

Yogi

When pressing the TEL function the screen gives you the option to search for a bluetooth handset. When the search button is pressed the screen shows a searching symbol for around 4-6 seconds then it ceases and states that 'mobile device not found'.

Which phone are you using? Are there any metal contacts in the armrest?

I have tried both iphone 4s, 5s and blackberry. In the centre armrest their is a section with brass contacts which AUDI have confirmed that is the 'docking station' for the Audi phone cradle.

Well for the iphone it's only used for charging. I'd be getting the firmware update and see what that brings considering you have a software related fault code aswell.

Dear Yogi,

I give you some update, because I just had car with same problem. First, "Navigation not available at the time" means you do not have navigation. They do not make extra buttons board without Navi button, so button is there, but it will show you that message.

MMI 3G early version (I'm not sure if only P0020 or also another) have sw bug which destroy bluetooth after some time. To confirm this, turn off completely MMI by pressing volume button for 5 seconds (or perform 3 key combination for reset) and check if you see during booting "Audi Multi Media Interface" boot screen, if you see only black screen it is the BT problem.

If BT is damaged, you must first use the Audi BT fix CD (the firmware P0020_ADJBK_FIX) and ONLY AFTER you can upgrade firmware to higher version. If you just upgrade to higher FW version, you will destrou BT permanently.
I can guess in your case, somebody upgraded firmware, and then use the BT fix CD. I'm not sure if MMI will accepted downgrading to lower firmware or not, if not you can still override this somehow, so my theory should be correct. And should be reason why you have firmware P0020_ADJBK_FIX but BT is not working.

That means you need buy used MMI main unit for about 400 EUR on ebay, replace it and then go to Audi to allow it via car diagnostic.

Good luck.

Hi. I have the Bluetooth 0020 without FIX. It was working fine until some time ago, when stopped working and it is grey and nothing works anymore.
I tried hard to Google for the firmware P0020_ADJBK_FIX but I could not find. Do you this firmware? Thank you.

Hi neilsibub or any other one who knows the answer.

My MMI has no navigation, it is 3G with Bluetooth only. I found and downloaded the firmware update for the navigation system version 0257. If I apply this update, after finishing the Bluetooth update, do you think I will have problems? Should I try to get an update with the Navigation? Thanks for you reply.

Hi guys, just to let you know. I have the same problem I own a 2010 a6 me mans estate. Been having Bluetooth problems for a year or so, but not bothered to do anything about it. If reads exactly as the other guy. Bluetooth button goes white but does not give the ability to pair of find a phone to connect to?
Took it to my local audi dealer today for the emissions update and get them to do a diagnostic on the problem with the Bluetooth.
They state I need a knew control unit at £1035 that's for the unit alone. Needless to say I'm shocked that a 6 year old car needs this. Very disappointed.

Warren, I had the problem and after the update everything is working 100%. Give it a try, just download the file from the link provided by neilsibub. I am disappointed with Audi as well. This is my second Audi A6 and I always have minor and big problems with this brand. I will try BMW or any Japanese as my next car. Good luck

Thanks again all.

Hmm... Interesting. I've been busy googling about my bluetooth problem and found this thread which brought me back to here.
I have the same software version mentioned before: BBT_EU_P0020_D1 and I have the very same problem that the bluetooth can be turned on but the rest of the menu is greyed out, not operational.
The software fix seems to have done the trick for a few of you so I'm tempted to try it myself. I have a couple of questions first though...
Firstly, is it safe? I'd hate to make things worse by attempting it.
Secondly, if I download the link, how do I get it onto the car? If I put the file onto an SD card, will the car accept it like that? I only have a slot for audio CD and 2x SD slots.
Thanks in advance... Paul

Hi Paul, have to admit to being scared and sceptical about updating the system.
Got really fed up with not having the Bluetooth working and thought sod it, downloaded the file to a sd card and followed the instructions on YouTube.
Been installed since the last thread update on here and had no problems at all.
Hope is that puts your mind at ease.

It does Warren, thanks. I'm going to give it a go. Just need to dust down the old laptop and get a new SD card.
One more thing though... I've been looking on YouTube but can't find a video for this :/

I have just looked through my history on you tube without success mate, find the secret factory settings update, play aroud and you will find the software update section,. Choose what method to do the update from ie cd, sd card etc. Select and hope lol. Mine worked fine I was told I needed a new centre console from Audi £1500 to get it working so thought sod it got nothing to lose really.

Thanks Warren. I've had a look and found the hidden red menu. I played around a bit, as per your suggestion and came across the section for updating. I still need to get a spare SD card and download the file onto it. Maybe tomorrow :)
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks

Right, ok, I've had a go but no joy. I've no problem at the car end, finding the software update section etc. It's the computer bit that's going wrong. The file is a zip file which I don't know how to handle :/
I clicked on unzip and extract I think. Then copied that list of files to the SD. I put this into the car but it says "ERROR - the release info could not be read" and then prompts me to abort.
HELP! What am I doing wrong?

PCB
27-10-2016, 04:02 PM
Ok, I've tried this a couple of times with the same result. I've tried it as the zipped file and also unzipped. It still displays the same message. The sd card is a brand new 8gb sdhc with the name "Integral" on it. I've no idea what FAT32 means but this one is.
This appears an easy fix but its not happening for me. I don't understand why :(

PCB

Evening all.
Well I did a lot of faffing around over the past week but finally got somewhere with this.
The update /fix file was a zipped file. I unzipped it using the WinZip program. WRONG! It turns out that it was losing vital info/files.
I changed programs in the end to Winrar and was then successful.
I now have bluetooth working, got both mine and my better half's phones paired to it and it's crystal clear so far.
Also, as a bonus, we now have the Audi startup screen which was absent before.
Mission accomplished me thinks.
Right... What's next?

It seems your old mega-link doesn't work anymore. I would appreciate if you or someone else who has the P0020_ADJBK_FIX would post it here again. I'm having the same issue with bluetooth not working on BBT_EU_P0020_D1 version.

Hello! I have the same problem now on our old Audi A6 Avant 2.0 TDI. The software version is BBT_EU_P0020_D1.

I saw you had posted a link to mega.nz with the upload for the original files, and on Mega you should be able to recover deleted files. (https://www.wikihow.com/Restore-Deleted-Files-in-MEGA)

Could you check if they are still recoverable? I would love it if you could send me the files so I could solve the problem with Bluetooth not working.

Kind regards,

Hi Viktor,

Unfortunately you can only recover files up to 30 days after they have been deleted.
