Well the A6 forum has a tips and tricks page for VCDS - Now we do too!

Obviously a lot of these have come from various forums around the internet as well as members on here and me just playing around. I have done all of the following on my A7 (or at least tried it and put it back). So here we go....

Change the Adaptive Cruise Control Preset distance
Go to module 13 (distance regulation), then adaptation, Channel 7 and change from 0 to 1. Reboot your MMI and you will then have an option in your MMI under Car, driver assistance and Adaptive Cruise Control to set which of the 4 distances your car will default to when you activate your ACC.

Change the speed the High Beam Assist works from / to
Go to module 20 (High Beam Assist), select adaptation, then using the drop down menu select "High beam speed threshold", change the speed it will activate to a speed of your choice. It is in KMPH and is about 60kmph as standard. Ive dropped mine to about 25 and now works much better on twisty country lanes.

Close your boot remotely using your key fob (and retain the opening feature)
Go to Module 46 (cent convenience), coding, long coding helper and ensure byte two, bit two is ticked it says "Comfort operation: Remote control active". Then got to module 6D (Trunk Electrics), security access and enter security code "12345". Then still in Module 6D, click adaptation, channel and there are 4 options in there (among others) called "Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key - Touch function for closing". Select all four of those options, one at a time, and change the value to ACTIVE and press do it. Thats it. You still open your boot as normal - press and hold the middle button on the fob, but to close it, you can now just click the button on the remote (not a press and hold) and the boot will close and beep to warn you. Love this mod!

Activate the hidden menu
Go to module 5F (Information Electrics), Adaptation, Channel 6 and change from 0 to 1. Save and exit. To enter the hidden menu press and hold "car" and "Menu" together for 6-8 seconds. To get out of the hidden menu, you need to restart your MMI. To do this press the top right soft key, the control knob and the menu button together briefly. BEWARE, THE BOOTLOADER MENU IN THE HIDDEN MENU WILL RUIN YOUR CAR. DO NOT MESS WITH THE HIDDEN MENU UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Activate the needle sweep
Go to Module 17 (Instruments), coding, long coding helper then in Byte 1 there is a tickable option. Tick the Guage test / Needle sweep box. Then Do It. Your needles will go all the way through their full range of movement when you start the engine (the markers for the cruise control light up and go off again too)

Activate Video in Motion
Simply follow the steps in this link. It will also generate the correct security code for you... VIM login-code generator for MMI 3G (http://trick77.com/tools/mmi3g_vimcode.php)

Automatic engagement of the parking Brake
Go to module 53 (Parking Brake) and then click on 16 - Security Access. Enter the code which your car gives you 78713 worked for me and A6 Chris. Then go to 10- Adaptation and click the drop down box at the top of the adaptation menu. Find "shift to P EPB" and set it to activated. When you now put your car in 'P', the electronic parking brake will engage automatically.

Change the temperature of the heated steering wheel
The factory preset temperature is set to 28 degrees C, if you want to increase (or decrease it) simply go to module 16 (steering wheel), adaptation and select channel 10. the preset value is 28 which relates to 28 degrees. Change this to a temperature of your choice and you are done. A temperature of 32 degrees has been tried and tested by Shabazmo.

Deactivate the seatbelt warning system
If you don't want to have to fasten your seatbelt (for whatever reason) and want to disable the seatbelt warning system, go to module 17 (Instruments), then coding and long coding helper. In byte 0 there is a drop down box for the seatbelt reminder. set it to '00 Seatbelt warning inactive', close the long coding helper, press do it and your reminder is then set to off.

Change the time your heated seats change from level 3 to level 2
When you put your heated seat on full it will only stay on full power (level 3) for 10 minutes before automatically dropping to level 2. if you want to increase (or decrease) the amount of time this takes, simply go to module 08 (HVAC) and click on adaptation, then on the drop down box there is an option called 'time until heated seat stage withdrawal from 3-2' and also one for stages 2-1. Select the option and enter a new value. The preset is 10 which is 10 minutes.

Activate disc brake massage system
if your auto wipers are on and detect rain, after a preset period your brakes can automatically start to gently touch on and off of the brake discs to keep them hot and dry therefore shortening your braking distances. You won't notice this happening but when you come to brake they will be far more responsive than if they were wet. To enable this feature, click on module 03 (ABS Brakes) and click on adaptation. Then find the option of 'disc brake wiper' and set it to normal.

Enable coming home/leaving home function with DRLs (switch off xenons/LEDs)
If you don't like your xenons or LED lights coming on when you unlock the car in the dark you can switch them off so only your DRLs are on.
[Select]
[09 Central electric]
[Coding - 07]
[Long coding helper]
Click on byte 6 and disable bit 4

Tail Lights on as DLRs (along with the fronts)
Turns on rear tail lights (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_nkw=rear+tail+lights) too as DRLs during the day

[Select]
[09-Central Electric]
[Coding - 07]
[Long Coding Helper]
Click on byte 2 and enable bit 7

Think that is all ive done for now. Feel free to ask any questions or add to the list.

I found another feature you automatic owners might enjoy.

53 - Parking Brake
16 - Security Access
Code shown to me was 78713
10 - Adaption
"Shift P to EPB"
Set to Activated

This will auto-apply the handbrake when the shifter has moved to P.

Increasing the temperature of the heated steering wheel. On cold winter morning the heated steering wheel might not be warm enough. It is factory set at 28C, but I have increased it to 32C. Module 16 steering wheel, adaption, channel 10, stored value 28, change to 32. Job done.

I am struggling to get the lap timer showing on the car. My interest is seeing the oil temperature. Any ideas? I have followed the instruction on the first page.

Press the menu button on your steering wheel then scroll down, oil temp is year dependant.

Does the Start Stop annoy you? Well Ive found how to turn it off!

go to Module 10 park/Steer Assist, then adaptation, then Deactivate Start stop function and turn it to active.

Great work m1tchy. One thing I dislike is the radio coming on every time I start the car irrespective if it was off when I left the car. Any idea how to keep it switched off.

One more question - is there a way to disable the dinging when the drivers door is opened while the engine is running. This is annoying when I step out to get the mail out of the mailbox which is a few blocks from my house.

Use the arrows for mode on the steering wheel. Press them when the noise starts and it stops. Great as it is very annoying if you are trying to speak to someone with the door open!
Cheers, Scott.

Pushing the arrow on the steering wheel turned off the door open alarm as noted. Works perfectly.

what is the best way to interact with the VCDS system ? there are quite a few interfaces for sale and they range from £20 to £650 !

Don't buy cheap and the expensive kit is not needed unless you're a specialist garage.

The one right in the middle will suit you well and is the one everyone gets - http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCHU.html

Run VCDS in Paralells or Bootcamp in a Windows VM.

Currently VCDS isn't compatible with Mac.

All depends on the hardware and software versions of the handbrake control module.

Does anyone know if I order the Interior Light Pack, can it be upgraded to Ambient Lighting with VCDS? I know few lights might be missing, but the dimming feature is what I'm really after.

If you do this does the button just always show as disabled or does it just look like you have already pressed it and you can then re-enable it?

Hope that kinda makes sense lol

P.S. Did you notice the battery meter doesn't work on the A7's?

M1tchy
29-01-2015, 08:42 PM
No active parking, but does have front, front left, front right, rear, rear left and rear right camera views. They were all extras I chose. The only extras I've done after market are: Sound booster module for the BiTDi, sweeping rear indicators and interior LEDs in place of standard bulbs.

Sorry for quizzing you but you seem to know a lot :)

M1tchy
30-01-2015, 10:52 AM
I got the LEDs from ebay. If you search for Audi A7 led canbus there are quite a few sets with all the bulbs you need. Looks so much more modern inside when they are changed.

And the sweeping indicators I got from Germany. There are two options, either swap for the new ones off the facelift A7 or do what I've done and fit a module that delays the outer leds. There is a thread in the A7 section with a video of the effect. I'll find it later, on my phone ATM. Here it is....
http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?162456-Facelift-tail-lights-available

And the sort of kit for the LEDs

A little late but this is a great solution:

Disable/memorize/invert Start & Stop:

- module 09-Cent. Elec.
- enter Security Code (20113)
- Adaptation on Channel 34:
subtract 4 to the value --> Start&Stop always disabled
add 32 to the value --> memorize last status (the Start & Stop status at engine startup will be the one at last engine shutdown)
- test & save

In addition of these values, if you add 64 to the value, the Start & Stop button light will be reversed: off if Start & Stop is disabled, and on if Start & Stop is enabled.

Found from several forums, original maybe audizine, also audipassion (FR) and a5oc. Tested "add 32" on my 2012 3.0 TDI car and it works. Original was 20.

This thread is awesom - my VCDS arrived today and i've been able to do everything I wanted except the following; I have a 'service' due message "since 179 days", its the brake fluid change at 3 years which obviusly hasn't been done. The next oil change readout on the MMI says due in 7300mi/336 days so clearly it's not the oil service causing the warning. Under the next oil change info is a second field saying 'service due' "since 179 days"

I've had the fluid changed but the garage didn't have the s/w to turn off the service warning.

I tried with VCDS but cannot remove the warning. I went to

modules
17-instruments
adaptations
ESI resetting

but the status according to VCDS is 'no warning'. so even when i set the new status to 'no warning' and save it, it makes no difference. Is it a different option to reset this kind of service due message?

Thanks

I solved this by doing the following:

modules
17-instruments
adaptations
ESI resetting
- change stored value to reset

This reset both the next oil change and the next service.

I then manually adjusted the stored values in 'SIE Distance driven from inspection' and 'SIE Time driven from inspection' to adjust the distance and time to next oil service back to what it should have been.

I also adjusted 'FIX distance covered since last mileage dependant service' and 'FIX time since last time-dependant service' which changes the miles/days till the next (non-oil) service.

Rear spoiler deactivation - I have left mine activated as standard but I wanted to adjust the activation/deactivation speeds which I cannot find a solution to. However while experimenting I found that it looks like it is possible to deactivate it completely with no error lights on the dash. I tested it on my road and no errors appear, but as I have left mine as standard I don't know what will happen once the key speeds are hit. I would assume nothing, but try at your own risk obviously.

If deactivated whilst in the up position, it stays up. If deactivated whilst down, it stays down.

To do it, simply untick the box that says "rear spoiler installed" in the long coding helper in both module 17-instruments (byte 5 bit 1) and also in module 46-central conv. (byte 6 bit 7)

Want to post some results. I have a 2016 A7 using VCDS 15.7.2 and the ross cable. Was able to do many things. I did sweep, rear hatch up and down with fob, DRL settings now available in MMI, lap timer(works well and fun), turned off seatbelt alarms (very, very nice). I was able to make the start stop function default to off and the button on the dash now has the light on(indicating the system is off) when I start the car. If I push the button the light will turn off and the system will activate. This is just how I want it. Still can work but defaulted to off. I followed the instruction from post #1 and my default value was 20 which I lowered to 16 and that did it. Used security code 20113 for this. Strange that security code is different for different functions, not just one size fits all... The security code is by far the biggest hassle in ALL of this. I was unable to do VIM. The instructions were of no help, the programming has changed and many of the options needed are not there. The are many channel 48s for example and none of them had the options needed so stuck on this one. I did find a line item called TestMode display speed cutout(something like that) and in it there was an option for what kmph for video cutout but when I raised it to any number above zero it said selection out of range so VIM may simply not be supported anymore.. Overall a good experience. The interface is a nightmare, trying to get it to connect is not easy. I had to keep locking and unlocking the door which the VCDS program told me to do, and that helped. The cable, etc works about as well as any USB connection, ie very, very poorly.. No surprise. Doing a total scan was a mess as well, the report just came back as not found, no connection for about 90% of the line items. Classic PC accessory experience, no surprise that it works very, very poorly..

The lap timer may be the best thing I did. It works well, resets easily. The lap timer stops when you turn off the car and stay off when you restart. On the lap timer screen there is now an Oil temp indicator, 3 digits in F, very nice. The digital speed in mph is in the middle and on the left is the word "Boost" but there is no number there.. Wish there was..A boost psi number would be a blast..

-- Turn off auto parking brake in ALL situations. Now if I open the door with the engine running is applies the PB. annoying.

Today I had some of VCDS things done
I had bought a cheap cable and it did not work so off I went to local VAG independent with a wish list from the A6 forum (link (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/132245-A6-C7-VCDS-Tricks))
Once they had updated their software we had immediate contact. This was the outcome
Needle sweep - yes
Laptimer - no
Kerb lighting - yes
Hidden menu - yes
Passenger door dip upon reverse - No
Autohandbrake when shift into P - err maybe - sometime handbrake light on sometimes not
Ripping from CD - yes
Switching lights in tourist mode - already implemented
Discbrake wipe already implemented
Checked for all fault codes

It took an hour and cost an hour's labour - probably not really worth it - but it was fun:o

Hello guys, I'm new here and got a question for you.
I recently got my steering wheel retrofitted on my A7, to one which have wheel heating and f1 paddles. From factory I didn't have any of these options.
The F1 paddles and the heating works fine, but here is the "small" problems:

1: We couldn't figure out how to remove the steering wheel options in the MMI menu (the favorite button which is now gone), how do we get rid of that?
http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa162/Lanbox/th_20160210_154809_zpsmjfe2i31.jpg (http://s197.photobucket.com/user/Lanbox/media/20160210_154809_zpsmjfe2i31.jpg.html)

2: When I activate the heating, a message shows up in small display in the middle of the dash, but it doesn't show in the MMI screen, isn't it supposed to show on the MMI screen also when activate/deactivate?

I've hopped over from the A6 forum but should be the same. Removing the "favourite " button option - Star key on steering wheel.

When your auto wipers are on the car will gently touch pads to keep dry and make car stop better.

Tried the auto hand brake when P selected but I don't have the Shift to P option in my drop down box.

Any ideas.??

Guys
Parking brake def not on my drop down list.
Think this may be due to it being a 2012?

Tried this and not sure.
Followed instructions is ch7 -
(7) Activating & Deactivating all development messages-Reserved_Bit6?
(STORED VALUE - NOT ACTIVATED)
If i try to activate it it needs a security code ?
Any ideas??????

Change the Adaptive Cruise Control Preset distance
Go to module 13 (distance regulation), then adaptation,
Channel 7 and change from 0 to 1.
Reboot your MMI and you will then have an option in your MMI under Car, driver assistance and Adaptive Cruise Control to set which of the 4 distances your car will default to when you activate your ACC.

I did get adaptive brake lights enabled and it beeps twice when locked now too.

Lap timer in HUD one ticked in 17- instruments byte1 bit3 ticked but not coming up.
Again is it because its a 2012 model?

For the lap timer have you then used the menu button on the steering wheel and scrolled to find the lap timer option now it's enabled?

You need A VCDS cable and software. Then it's as easy as following the steps above.

i'm finally getting around to doing the VCDS mods i always wanted, with the help of a kind soul from this forum.

can i confirm the coding for audible beep on lock/unlock is as below please?

[Select]
[46-Central Conv.]
[Coding - 07]
[Long Coding Helper]
Click on byte 1 and in bit 2 you'll see the selectable option: "Anti-Theft-System: Horn Confirmation active"
Check this option
[Do It!]

couldn't find it in this thread (did i miss it.. ), picked it up from the A6 C7 section (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/132245-A6-C7-VCDS-Tricks)

Thanks to diecast via A6 forum

Has anyone tried the "memorize last status" stop&go? My default value was 20, so changed it to 52. It works most of the time, but sometimes it just forgets the last status. Wondering if I have a bad battery or something?

Has anyone tried the "memorize last status" stop&go?

I don't know if it's a proper answer for an A7, but I have an A6, and the "memorize last status" is working fine in my car. For the record, for the first time I selected the reverse the "disable/enable" settings only, and then was the time when I felt what you mentioned. In that case, I felt, that sometimes the car doesn't acted by the actual settings.

I have the same problem (I did exactly the same coding).
Which model year is your car and which 09-CE unit is installed?

Did you try with reversing the start/stop function or with SS memory and reversing the light function? Any difference?

Mine is 2011 A7, I didn't do the coding myself so I don't know what to answer for the other questions :(
Here is an example from yesterday: I parked the car with stop&GO deactivated (switch on), 6 hours later when I started the car it was still deactivated. Then after driving for 10minutes I stopped to fill some gas. Turned off the engine, filled gas, and when I was finished and started the car, stop&go was activated again... Next time I will try to change the value to 16 to deactivate it completely.

Hi, i did something wrong in D6 Trunk electr., 10 Adaptation as i can not open or close the boot lid any more with the inner button found on the buttom of the boot lid. Go back to trunk electrics and ensure all of the options that relate to the boot opening are set to active.

As for your boot, open it to its full position - manually if you have to, then press and hold the button to close the boot for 5 seconds. You will hear a number of beeps to confirm the new position has been stored.

Is it possible to have the start/stop function activated without fastening the seatbelt?

A coding out of range usually means the controller does not have that option you are trying to code. Possibly your controller does not support boot closing? how old is the car?
Or you are coding the wrong part of the ECU code.

Well mate, could you maybe check what do other settings say? I simply can not find out which line within adaptation is for the closing function for rear lid inner button. :(
Beside i have a fault code like below and indeed on the rear right door the white light at the bottom and the red light on the rear side do not work while other 2-3 lights (ambient etc.) works. I called the local car electrical "expert" but he refused to check as he is too amateur for such cars. I removed the plastic cover of the door and see some moduls or whatever but don't know what can be wrong. Any idea?
31000
Moreover my gearbox has also malfunction and creates some fault codes but my 15.7.1. VCDS doesn't say exact code only recognises as unknown error and writes ROD...whatever. What is this? Is this version of VCDS not the latest? Should it not tell the exact code starting with P...?

or Ilexa: VCDS/VAG-COMHEXV2Ent3VIN (https://www.ilexa.co.uk/shop/VCDS-VAG-COM/VCDS-HEX-V2-Ent3VIN)

There is a few different variants depending on how many cars you want to use it on. Basic one lets you could 3 different cars, then there is a 10 vin and unlimited, price increases accordingly

The boot coding isn't done in the long coding helper. It's done in adaptation (from memory).

The rest should work though, where you have the alpha numeric code in green in the boxes below the big number I yellow. Click in each one and the list of options you can activate changes. It also changes the wording on the left (byte 0, byte 1 etc etc)

Does that help?

Just a short info:

Today I've just made the MMI Version 942_4 upgrade in a local garage, but honestly I didn't found any difference between the new and the former MMI 770 version.

So most of those occourred on 10/10/16 or a few weeks earlier on 27/09/16.

The fault frequency is 1.

So I would suggest that someone was doing something to the car on the earlier date, finished it off in the second date and didn't isolate the power. This will cause surges etc around the circuit giving the faults. The fact they have only occurred once seems to back this up too.

I would clear all faults and rescan and if I were a betting man I'd bet they won't return.

The fault from address 28 HVAC (heating, ventilation and air con) is the only one that doesn't fit with the above. Again though if you reset it and it returns, it will confirm there is a fault and can be looked into.

I think those aircon faults occured when you have the aircon control unit disconnected below the MMI, that might have been taken out in the past from some reason and codes not cleared. I had similar on mine recently when i was trying the rear view camera retrofit. copy the logs and clear them and deal with whatever comes back

JayNana - did this work for the beep on lock/unlock? Thanks

i'm finally getting around to doing the VCDS mods i always wanted, with the help of a kind soul from this forum.

can i confirm the coding for audible beep on lock/unlock is as below please?

[Select]
[46-Central Conv.]
[Coding - 07]
[Long Coding Helper]
Click on byte 1 and in bit 2 you'll see the selectable option: "Anti-Theft-System: Horn Confirmation active"
Check this option
[Do It!]

couldn't find it in this thread (did i miss it.. ), picked it up from the A6 C7 section (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/132245-A6-C7-VCDS-Tricks)

thx

Yes, a very discrete beep on lock, no sound on unlock (you don't want to be announcing the unlock)

The dealer had reset the system (gearbox fix.. under warrenty) so i just re-applied all my mods again.

which reminded me, i never found this module

Change the speed the High Beam Assist works from / to
Go to module 20 (High Beam Assist), select adaptation, then using the drop down menu select "High beam speed threshold", change the speed it will activate to a speed of your choice. It is in KMPH and is about 60kmph as standard. Ive dropped mine to about 25 and now works much better on twisty country lanes.

Which tab is module 20 in?

Is there anyway to disable by default the auto dimming features? Or at least "remember last setting"?

Every time I get into my car, I have to turn it off manually via the button on my rear view mirror.

Will be getting my A7 next week, and during test drive I noticed some stuff that drives me crazy. The first is Start/Stop system (thankfully, this topic has info on how to disable it) and second is backup camera. Is it possible to make it work like in other cars? In short, I want screen to switch off backup camera the same moment I move gear from R to any other position. The screen still displays view from rear camera even in D (until about 25-30 km/h speed is reached) now, and I hate it badly... The car comes with surround (360) cameras if that makes any difference.

M1tchy
24-11-2017, 02:37 PM
Yes that can be changed. I’ll have to check on how to do it. If you change it, when you have the front or side parking cameras active, they will switch off as soon as the car moves if you change the speed to 0 though.

Thanks for the input. If I understand right, you mean that surround cameras will be pretty useless after this change, as they will only work when car is completely stopped? If so, then don't waste your time on this, since the functionality of surround cameras + annoying rear view when car moves is better than no functionality of surround cameras + no annoying rear view when car moves :)

However, if there's some way to disable only backup camera view in main screen right after gear is no longer in R position, that would be great.

M1tchy
24-11-2017, 04:51 PM
Sort of, basically if you change the speed the cameras deactivate - all cameras will be set to that speed so will all deactivate and loose the functionality. I’ve not found a way to change just one cameras speed activation setting

A silly idea:

What happens if you change this value to 1 MPH (or even 0 MPH)? Maybe the gearbox reverse selection will override this value (like it turns on autmatically if you select reverse) so maybe it will not turn off if you drive backwards faster then the selected value, but after you stop, and starts to drive FW, then it will turn off the rear cam immediately.

M1tchy

The camera system and park assist light would go off at 1mph I imagine. At 0mph I assume it would switch off as soon as you start to move - not tried though so can’t confirm

Alright, will test it in a real-life environment for a week or two, until I decide at which speed cameras should go off.

Some more questions:

1. Is it possible to auto-unfold mirrors when car is unlocked? By default, mirrors unfold only when ignition is on, which I don't like. Most of other cars I had unfold mirrors right when car is unlocked, so you can easily see if car is locked (mirrors folded) or unlocked (mirrors unfolded) being away from the car.

2. Did someone try to increase the sound of actuator on BiTDI and can share results? I found on German site that it can be done using VCDS, so would love to hear someone's experience.

3. How can I auto-enable parking system (sensors + cameras) when vehicle drives at low speeds? If I put Reverse gear, and then drive forward, everything is fine - camera automatically switches from rear to front. But if I drive at high speed and then I need to park car at low speed (without reversing), parking sensors + front camera don't automatically start working when speed drops, which is annoying. In other words, I'd like the opposite function of cameras auto-off. Beside cameras getting turned off when vehicle reaches speed X, I'd like cameras (or at least damn front parking sensors) to auto-on when speed drops below X. Hope you get the idea.

4. Does the car has "rain-closing" function like VW Passat? I mean, old Passat has option in menu which automatically closes all windows/sunroof when car sits in parking and rain is detected. Can't find such in A7.

Did anyone ever try to change around on the ride height on the level control settings?

Milnei
07-10-2018, 10:38 PM
If you’re asking about lowering then I can share my experience.
First thing to note (and confuse), all wheels measured 388mm from centre to wheel arch, however the values in VCDS were all different and ranged from 401.8 down to around 385.
I then set them all at 400, but that left the wheel centre to arch all over the place!
Then added my required drop level to all the original number (ie, the recommended max drop is 17mm, so the original high one became 418.8.
However the adaptation numbers would not be accepted, and the highest number (most dropped position) was 426. So in order for all corners to have the same drop I needed to add 14.2 to the other corners.
After doing this I remeasured the corners and they were around 374, with a mm or so different.
My OCD wants to get them all the same so will need to do some fine tuning.

Hi - does anyone know what the maximum temperature setting can be for the heated steering wheel m on an Audi A7 2012? Have it set to 32c but could do with being higher but dont want to burn it out! Thanks in advance.

AT.
26-02-2019, 07:34 AM
I don't think, that you can burn it out with the factory settings. However it's possible that the higher temperature will shorten the lifecycle of the heating element, but also IMHO, it does not depend on the temperature but on the total usage time.

I'm not sure, if the tips&trick session's idea could work on that model, however if yes, then after a simple coding you can turn on the "simple" abient interior lighting with the VCDS.

This means NOT the entire ambient lighting pack, but you can set the foot area's light volume.

If I remember well, then it was a common problem with the early FL models. I think, you should go to an Audi dealer, and they will replace the MMI version with the new one - probably for free, as it was a factory failure.

The green menu allows you to change or activate some more hidden menus so they can show up on the MMI.
It also allows you to change settings and timings and all sorts of stuff.
Before you start though, you need to know that it can be VERY dangerous.... It CAN break your car...

There are various videos on you tube showing you how to get it and some of the bits it can do.
The plethora of options in there are vast. I cannot stress how careful you have to be in it.

You usually need VCDS to activate it in the first place.

I tried to set the battery option back to 0 but no luck. What can I do to reset it?

Has anyone managed to get VIM working on the 4K A7?

I managed to fluke this with my OBDELEVEN PRO without buying 100 credits.

I know this is a reply to an old post. But hoping you may be able to help?

I have just picked up a 3.0 245 A7. I’ve run some of the tweaks.
Needle sweep, remote boot from fob, emergency braking lights and hazards, timers for seats 3-2 and 2-1, DRL welcome lights, fogs for turning (haven’t checked yet, not been dark enough), epb off with no seatbelt, VIM but haven’t tried it yet... can’t actually find a DVD in the house!

a couple of questions;

1; Shift P to EPB
I have auto handbrake on my car but has to be set every time I get in. So I have tried the EPB when in P, there are two adaptation options and I’ve activated both. But still no change. Might this be because of the auto handbrake? It’s not life or death... pulling a little lever to put the handbrake on is not the greatest hardship, but the fact that the car doesn’t remember auto handbrake on from last use is annoying. My wife’s old Sharan used to have it and once set it was always on auto.

2; I’ve activated the lap timer, but no menu option of DIS?

Going to explore rear spoiler and see if there is an option to lower deployment speed and I’ve read a lot of comments about rear camera off which I might do a bit of ferreting about with.

any help appreciated. The EPB is the main niggle.

cheers

2.Some 2011-2012 models don’t support this.
3.I don’t think anyone have found a way to do that.

Do any of these VCDS tricks work on the 2019 A7?

Other than turning it off once activated by pressing the arrow keys on the steering wheel, did anyone figure out how to disable the "engine on" chime when the door is opened?

Closing the door worked for me
