I am considering buying a Passat SEL 170 DSG and wanted adaptive cruise control. I appreciate that standard cruise is fitted to the the SEL.

I have seen a number of reviews which suggest that the radar based cruise control is available on the Passat. I am happy to pay extra for it but I can't find it on the options list for UK models and wonder if it is only available on european models?

Maybe they are wrong and it is simply not available on the Passat after all. I spoke to VW UK and they knew nothing about it being available on the Passat so I wonder where the journalists are getting the idea it can be obtained?

I see that it is an option on the Mondeo but I would rather have a Passat.

Just wondered if anyone else had an answer?

Many thanks

Hi WiiJeff,

I am sure VW can or do put it on Passats as the adaptive cruise control is detailed in the owner's manual. It gives instruction for all the available options but might be a universal English version.

Hopefully some help but not a conclusion.
